Everything We Know So Far About Drag Den PH

Which drag queen will reign supreme?

In case you didn’t know: there’s another drag competition in town! Legendary Filipino drag queen Manila Luzon, icon from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 3, All Stars 1, and All Stars 4, is the host of the upcoming reality show Drag Den Philippines. The first of its kind in the country, the hot new reality competition is set for a worldwide premiere via Prime Video Philippines on December 8, 2022. Take your seats and get ready!

Hailed as a “drag pageant for Filipinos by Filipinos”, the drag competition series features a diverse set of talented and glamorous Filipino queens who will fiercely battle for the title of “Drag Supreme.”

Beginning November 18, the series kicked off its roll-out of announcements such as the program’s official posters featuring the cast. The theme of the shoot introducing the contenders is “Manila by Night.” Here, eight queens set to compete are given the limelight. Meet Aries Night, Barbie-Q, Lady Gagita, Maria Cristina, Naia, O-A, Pura Luka Vega, and Shewarma.

This was followed by the release of the show’s first trailer. This is the first time that audiences got their peek at the set, panel of judges, and more. Set in an underground den on the outskirts of Manila, “Drag Den Lord” Manila Luzon welcomes all eight Filipino drag queens together with her fellow mentors and judges. Miss Grand International 2016 first runner-up Nicole Cordoves is the “Drag Dealer”, social media personality Sassa Gurl is the “Drag Runner”, while Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray joins the roster as the “Drag Enforcer.”

The trailer gave a preview of the first challenge’s theme, Pinoy National Symbols, with the cast sashaying on the runway with stunning creations, prompting Manila to exclaim, “I have never been more proud to be Filipino than I am looking at all of you.”

Through Drag Den Philippines, Manila Luzon hopes to bring Filipino drag excellence to the forefront, showcasing the brilliant talent of local drag queens to the world. The show is produced by Cornerstone and Project 8, with Antoinette Jadaone and Rod Singh as creative directors and producers.
