7 YouTube Channels to Subscribe to This Month
From the insightful to the entertaining and the extremely informative
YouTube is the streaming blackhole we all enjoy falling into now and then. It’s a great place to discover new artists, marathon anything from movie trailers to cute cat videos and, to be real, lose track of time. Even if we’re talking about indulging ourselves on this entertainment treasure trove, it would be nice to zero in on the channels and creators that put something refreshing on the table. This roundup hopes to get that search going.

Time to give that YouTube homepage of yours a nice content upgrade! For the month of March, here are the seven YouTube channels worthy of your subscription.
Wonder
New style and pop culture platform on the block Wonder has been around for a little under two years and it has done well since its launch to stir the conversation. Featuring a nice mix of well-known personalities, up-and-comers, indie acts and industry experts, this local media brand exists to create dialogue about “anything and everything men, women and everyone in between care about, from fashion to grooming, career to sex and relationships, pop culture to self-love—including things we’re sometimes too shy or find hard to talk about.”
This month, in particular, Wonder made its archive of video content public, giving those perusing its channel a look at social experiments, sex ed basics, styling how-to’s and a taste of what else to come.

NEVER TOO SMALL
“A space is never too small:” a way of life and thinking in modern cities and the entire concept of this channel dedicated to small footprint design.
Never Too Small highlights award-winning designers across the globe and their tiny homes, micro apartments, studios and projects. The creators of the platform shared: “Through smart design and creative use of space, we can transform the way we live and interact with our growing cities.” Taking you through strategically designed houseboats, container houses, cabins and more, Never Too Small is where you can help yourself to a ton of creative, space-saving ideas and inspiration.

WIRED
Wired started out as a tech magazine and went from glossy pages to taking to the internet in the ‘90s. Today, wired.com is an authority in its own right covering everything from news involving tech giants, politics, the latest in biotechnology and gaming.
On YouTube, Wired comes alive in a totally different way. It strikes a balance between the fun and the informative and lets viewers in on interesting tidbits like “A Doctor Explains How to Prepare for a Pandemic,” “How the Marines Train to Survive a Helicopter Crash Underwater” and “A Former FBI Agent Explains How to Detect Lying & Deception.” On to lighter topics, people are also free to enjoy the famous “Autocomplete Interviews” or “The Last Thing On Your Phone.” It’s always nice to know you can switch between the hard-hitting and just-for-fun.

Vevo DSCVR
Vevo has gone from housing artists’ official music videos to creating its own all-original content by mounting live, in-studio performances with today’s hottest up-and-coming artists. (The stage here has been shared by the likes of Sam Smith, Hozier and Kiana Ledé.)
On Vevo DSCVR, as the name of the channel suggests, you get to discover the hottest new artists every week. The best part? The platform is keeping its eyes and ears peeled. Music lovers are free to drop in and nominate who they believe should be the next DSCVR artist.

Cassandra Bankson
Given all the beauty reaction videos and skincare routine rundowns up on YouTube, if there’s a content creator you can trust to keep it real, accurate and science-based, it’s Cassandra Bankson. She may have hit the ground running considering her start in the industry as a model, but what resonated with viewers was her honest and well-documented journey dealing with cystic adult acne. Now a licensed esthetician, Bankson uses her channel to spread awareness and enlighten through science-based skincare videos (added bonus: she’s a ton of fun to watch).

The Take
Pop culture fanatics, film lovers and TV fans, here’s where you can all assemble. The Take on YouTube is the place where you can unpack the different concepts that go into your favorite movies, shows and culture in general. “Our video essays make the story worlds you enter richer and deeper,” shared founders Debra Minoff and Susannah McCullough. “Think: Endings Explained, Character Studies, Hidden Messages and Symbols Revealed, Actor and Director Profiles, and more.”
