We’re low-key obsessing on their contemporary wares
Since its inception in the 90s, Suyen Corporation has ben deeply committed to creating quality retail products for Filipinos and bringing exciting international retail brands, from fashion to food to home furnishings, to our local shores. This year, Suyen celebrates 30 years in the business and it seems the best is yet to come. And as we wait and see what the retail giant has more in store, we shift our attention to its design collective Assembly. Located at the G/F of SM Aura, Assembly houses carefully curated (by no less than Ben Chan himself) contemporary labels from all over the world. Enter its low-key but powerful lineup, from Mihara Yusihiro to Southern Field Industries that all share an understated aesthetic. Last June 16, 2017, Assembly together with Globe Platinum launched its latest designer collections in an exclusive shopping event.
Starting out as a shoe brand, Mihara Yusihiro later expanded to ready-to-wear for men and women. If you have a spot for classic utilitarian designs with a playful theme, this is your go-to.
Standard Issue Combining street style and contemporary urban culture, American brand Standard Issue has unique flavor and sophisticated vibe down to a science. You just can’t go wrong with their designs.
Ethosens, from the words ethos (or quality) and sense, is a Japanese brand known for its innovative efforts to create a new standard in design. Think classic styles in forward silhouettes and in monochrome.
Another Japanese label that one will easily love for the utilitarian designs (their denim jackets though) tailored to perfection. Functional and stylish wares? They’re all right here.
Southern Field Industries
For Japanese label Southern Field, quality is serious business. Taking pride in its handmade canvas products created with sheer hard work and expert craftsmanship, theirs are products that you will cherish and love.
Brands like Côte and Ciel, Rupert Sanderson, Repetto, Wood Wood, Paul Smith, Fratelli Rosetti and Zespa also premiered their latest collections.
The exclusive shopping event was attended by VIPs, select members of the press and Globe Platinum customers, who received a special 20% discount on reglar-priced items. Globe Platinum through Globe Telecom’s President & CEO Ernest Cu also gave away a Huawei P10 to one lucky winner.
It was just what everyone needed—retail therapy, fantastic service, good music, some cocktails and great company—to end the workweek right.
