#SupportLocal: Shop She Talks Asia and ANTHILL’s Collaborative Capsule

The women empowerment platform releases a capsule with ANTHILL Fabric Gallery, a collective that advocates for the preservation of local weaves

She Talks Asia, the celebrated women empowerment brand for Filipinas and by Filipinas, has long found ways to bring communities together—whether through stories, or advocacy-based enterprises that empower the Filipino. Its latest campaign takes on both. 

This month, She Talks Asia has collaborated with ANTHILL Fabric Gallery to invite women to “wear your tribe with pride.” By partnering with this social enterprise, the organization (founded by power Pinays Iza Calzado, Jenica Chuahiock, Lynn” Pinugu, Victoria, Herrera, and Sarah Meier) is helping to promote, champion, and preserve some of the Philippines’ local weaves.

Through a capsule collection entitled KINAIYA, She Talks Asia and ANTHILL put front and center thoughtfully-designed, sustainably-made pieces: the Kinaiya Chaketa (₱4,999.00) and the Alitaptap top (₱4,999.00). A closer look shows the signature icon on She Talks Asia, the interwoven lips, embroidered into the cloth.

Talking more about what’s at the core of Kinaiya (a Cebuano word meaning “inner being”), She Talks Asia shared in a press release its main highlight: the Binakol weave. “She Talks chose the weave because of its intricate patterns, and the meaning behind them,” said Lynn Pinugu, She Talks Asia’s CEO. “We see these pieces not just an expression of our pride and love for our culture, but as an [armor] that reflects our character, and strengthens our confidence to take on the challenges every day.”
