Meet The Zalora StyleFestPH Year 2 Finalists

The four names that make up Zalora’s stylefestph Year 2 finalists

The world of fashion and design has welcomed countless names over the decades. Some of these names have been cemented into pop culture and some of them haven’t been as successful. But despite the risk and constantly changing landscape, there are new risk-takers always willing to take on the challenge.

This year, Zalora welcomes its stylefestph Year 2 finalists: Austeen Soriano, Bea Guerrero, Bessie Besana and Ia Coca. Through the Design Mentorship Program, these four names will experience a crash course in their chosen industries, from conceptualization to the runway. And while we’ll have to wait until November to see their collections debut at stylefest Year 2, we can take a peek into who they are and where they get their inspiration.

Austeen Soriano

A graduating student of the Institute Of Creative Entrepreneurship-Fashion, Art and Design (ICE-FAD), Austeen Soriano prefers to play with symmetry and asymmetry when he designs. Fitting these two into his pieces, tailored garments are his forte—so we’re expecting to see as much from his stylefestph Year 2 debut.

Bea Guerrero

Describing herself as an avant-garde designer, Bea Guerrero has a way with color, graphics and shapes. Currently a design student at DLS-Benilde’s School of Design and Arts, she’s working on her thesis collection while taking part in this year’s Design Mentorship Program.

Bessie Besana

A civil engineer by education, Bessie Besana already runs an atelier while honing his skills at Slim’s Fashion and Art School. He himself describes his work as modern and clean as he draws inspiration from a person’s character while accentuating their best body features.

Ia Coca

Geometry and texture inspire Ia Coca whenever he creates something. After graduating from Cebu’s Fashion Institute of Design and Arts, he’s made chic and edgy his signature descriptions. And while he’s one of Zalora’s finalist for stylefestph Year 2, he has his eyes on working on collaborations moving forward.
