The Fitness Apps You Should Be Downloading

It’s never too late to start getting fit

Being fit isn’t something you can have overnight; it’s a continuous struggle that needs to be consciously worked on day in and day out. This is exactly why fitness apps are so perfect: they’re always with you. They help keep you in check and can be a constant reminder of where you are, what your progress is and how much further you need to go.

Often hailed as the easiest and best calorie counter for iOS, MyFitnessPal is something you’re going to want to keep close with you. It has a food database of over 5 million items and it’s incredibly simple to input your diet and exercise. It will take you just a few minutes a day to input your progress and it’s a step counter as well. It also has a recipe importer, which lets you tag and keep track of your favorite online recipes.

MyFitnessPal is available for free on iOS.

If you need help in being more active, then Sworkit (Simply Work It) is the app for you. The app offers exercise videos as demonstrated by personal trainers. There are more than 200 types of exercises available, so you’re bound to find one that’s perfect for you. And because interval training is combined with random exercises, you’re sure not to get bored and your body won’t get used to one routine.

Sworkit is available for free on iOS and Android.

Charity Miles

Working out doesn’t have to be completely selfish as Charity Miles has proven. The app allows you to earn money for each mile that you put behind you and you can choose what charity it goes to. US$0.10 is earned per mile for cyclists, and US$0.25 for walkers and runners. The charities you can choose from include Feeding America, Habitat For Humanity and the Wounded Warrior Project.

On the other hand, KFit is the best fitness app to get if you’re looking for classes and prefer that kind of support system. The app gets you connected to the biggest deals around your area and its system easily allows you to purchase and book the classes. Take yoga one day, cycling the next and boxing the day after. The possibilities are virtually endless.

KFit is available for free on iOS and Android. Use of the app may cost some money though, so use the GlobeKFit promo code to get P450 off. Code is valid until June 17.

Pocket Yoga

But if you’re okay with sticking to just yoga, then there’s no better partner than Pocket Yoga. The app’s database contains some 200 poses, each with illustrations, descriptions and a list of benefits. The poses have been designed by experienced instructors, too, so you know you’ll get your worth. You’ll also be able to track all of your progress, and—when you’re ready—you’ll unlock new environments as well.

Pocket Yoga is available on iOS and Android.
