Kevin Durant Will Still Be A Force To Reckon With In The 2017 NBA Playoffs
KD is back and the Dubs are ready for the Playoffs
After he suffered a knee injury, Kevin Durant quickly showed us that he’s back to finish business. He did so by posting a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Golden State Warriors won against the New Orleans Pelicans (GSW 123 - NOP 101). Durant further proved that he’s healthy and injury free by scoring a nifty reverse dunk from the sideline.
Kevin Durant Is Back Just In Time For The Playoffs
With Durant back in the line-up, the Golden State Warriors are a tougher and scarier team to match up against in the Playoffs. KD is likely to draw the opposing defensive team’s attention, which would leave the Splash Brothers Klay Thompson and Steph Curry open. This setup will create more opportunities to score a basket by confusing the opposing team with regards to who will make the shot.
Durant has shown us that he can attack the basket and draw the attention of defenders, which is a positive sign that he’s willing to play a more contact-based game.
Season Stats with Golden State Warriors
With an average of 33.5 minutes, 25.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game, as well as scoring a 37.3% 3-point percentage, KD has proven that you cannot leave him with just a one defender. He’s proven time and time again that he can be trusted with hard shots, and – when he’s hot – not even the best defenders in the league can stop him.
Not only is he a great scorer that fits in perfectly for the small ball of the Golden State Warriors, but the team’s defense is made greater by his 6’9’’ frame. We’re bound to see more run and gun plays with him in the lineup.
