Relive the best moments in this year’s All-Star game

The 2017 NBA All-Star game took place on February 19 in New Orleans, capping of the All-Star Weekend that began on February 17. From the game’s premise alone—the best of the East against the best of the West—it has and always will be the platform for some of basketball’s greatest moments. But this year’s chosen ones truly put their best out there and proved once again why the public is so enamored with the sport. The entire day was filled with moments that will be written down in history, but we’ll do our best to bring you the best of the highlights. You know, just in case you missed all the fun at Basketball TV and Globe's NBA All-Star Festival event, which welcomed the All-Star games with exciting activities, a viewing party of the NBA's Rising Stars and a meet and greet with NBA Legend Kevin Martin.

Anthony Davis' Record-Breaking Performance

Davis is an amazing player and was undoubtedly going to score major points at the All-Star Game, but it clearly became evident that his teammates were going to do all they could to help him beat the ASG shooting record. Instead of taking easy shots, the other players would pass the ball to Davis so he could score. In the end, he scored 52 points against his opponents and was named the MVP of All-Star Weekend. 

Steph Curry Dives To The Floor For Giannis Antetokounmpo's Dunk

In the first half of the game, Antetokounmpo already had several dunks over Curry. In the third quarter, Curry shot to the floor as Antetokounmpo travelled the court for another hard shot. Some reports have claimed the move was so that Curry would not be on the background of Antetokounmpo’s NBA All-Star poster.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook Showcase Sportsmanship

The drama leading up to the All-Star Game was almost fueled by the inevitable meeting between Durant and Westbrook. However, while the two were standing apart for the West’s team photo, they were also seen playing with each other throughout the game. In one particular play, they connected for an all-important alley-oop.

Glenn Robinson III and Derrick Jones Jr'.s Slam Dunk Contest Performance

This year’s dunk competition is infamously one of the weaker ones in current history. And while most agree that this is so, there is no denying that the performances from Robinson and Jones were an important part of this year’s NBA All-Star Game. 

The world Defeats USA, 150-141

Jamal Murray, a Canadian and Denver Nuggets rookie, was a standout at the game. He went 9 out of 14 on the 3-point line and was voted the game’s MVP. His Worlds teammates admitted that he was having a hot game and that there was just no stopping him at the time. In the end, Murray scored 36 points, 3 rebounds and 11 assists.
