NBA Playoff Highlights First-Round Series Part 2
We say goodbye to some of our favorite teams
*As of April 28, 2017
Russell Westbrook’s Triple-Double in Game 4
Russell Westbrook made history as he joined “Wilt Chamberlain as the only players to claim three consecutive playoff triple-doubles,” as per the Associated Press. And while his stellar performance was one for the books, sadly, Oklahoma City Thunder couldn’t be saved from a 4-1 loss against the Houston Rockets.
San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz Are On Fire
Both the Spurs and Jazz impressed as they took a step closer to the next round by taking a 4-2 and 3-2 lead against the Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Clippers, respectively. The Spurs, who had their second straight win over the Grizzlies in the first round, is advancing to the Western Conference semi-finals and will face the Houston Rockets on Monday (PST). Meanwhile if Jazz closes out the series in Game 6, they’ll be facing a new opponent on Sunday (PST). Otherwise, we’ll be seeing them and the Clippers in Game 7.
Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors Advance Into The Next Round
It may have come as little to no surprise to basketball fans that the Cavs and Warriors have each swept their opponent (the Indiana Pacers and Portland Trail Blazers, respectively) and are moving on to the next round. Will we see both teams go head to head in the Finals for a third straight season? It could happen. Meanwhile, here’s a throwback to last year’s Finals.
Isaiah Thomas Is Doing What’s Right For Him
Many of us saw Isaiah Thomas sobbing on the sideline during the pregame coverage of Game 1. Thomas’ sister died in a one-car accident last April 15—a day before the Boston Celtics’ game against the Chicago Bulls. But despite the circumstances, Thomas only missed Game 2 and 3, and was back for Game 5. He will also be playing in Game 6 before leaving for his sister’s funeral. The Celtics takes a 3-2 lead over the Bulls as of April 28.
