NBA Preseason Is Starting This Weekend & Here’s What We Have Our Eyes On

The stories have been brewing and we’re about to see it all unfold

The NBA season may not officially be a year-long endeavor, though we know know you keep tabs on what’s happening with the players, teams and coaches all months of year. But despite the ever-present hype, you know things really start to go down during the preseason tipoff.

The Cavs’ gamble

General manager David Griffin quit his post because he couldn’t get along with owner Dan Gilbert. Meanwhile, all-star point guard Kyrie Irving got the trade that he was asking for – except that the Cavs might be in over their heads as no one knows when Isaiah Thomas will be well enough to actually play. Not to mention, people believe that LeBron James will be leaving at the end of the 2017-2018 season too.

So what will happen to the three-time defending Eastern Conference champs? We’ll soon find out.

The Celtics’ makeover

No other NBA team has arguably had the off-season facelift that the Boston Celtics got. Adding Irving and Gordon Hayward is sure to spice things up, but the team will also have to figure out how to work themselves without some key players. Two of Celtics’ best defenders, Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder, are gone, as are Isaiah, Kelly Olynyk, Amir Johnson and Jonas Jerebko.

How the team will fare this upcoming season is sure to cook up an interesting story.

The Knicks’ risky move

It's official: The New York Knicks have agreed to trade 10-time All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunders. In exchange, OKC is giving up center Enes Kanter, forward Dough McDermott and a 2018 second-round pick.

Losing a big player like Carmelo is sure to change up the dynamics of the Knicks and it will be great to watch how the team keeps up.

Dwyane Wade’s choice to buy out

When the Chicago Bulls waived Dwyane Wade after the dust settled with the current team, it wasn't clear where the All-Star shooting guard would be playing. . Now we all know he signed up with the Cleveland Cavaliers, which meant meant declining some choice teams that included Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs.

Before things were official, it was reported that Wade would make a “basketball decision” based on which team he’d best fit in with at this point in his career.

Rookies we’re excited to see on court

The NBA Preseason is really the time for rookies to shine and prove themselves on the professional basketball court. For years now, it’s been a time that’s exciting and has properly set the stage for the upcoming NBA season.

We’re expecting to see big things from Lonzo Ball (Los Angeles Lakers), Kyle Kuzma (Los Angeles Lakers), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), Dennis Smith Jr. (Dallas Mavericks) and Markelle Fultz (Philadelphia 76ers).
