The Cleveland Cavaliers’ 4-game losing streak

When the Cavs lost to the Indiana Pacers with a final score of 124-107, it marked the team’s fourth straight loss of the season. In total, the team has lost by a surprising 63 points, which beats out LeBron James’ four-game loss back in 2004 when he was still a rookie.

The loss to the Pacers has completely changed the mindset of LeBron, who said he was not about to “go crazy” after the Cav’s third loss. But after this week’s game, ESPN quoted the superstar as admitting that his team “is kind of depleted.”

To top it off, the Cavs need to move forward without Tristan Thompson, who left in the second quarter due to a left calf strain. Thompson exited the game in crutches and is expected to miss out on at least two more games. The pressure is now on Jae Crowder to fill in Thomson’s starting position.

The Rookie Ladder: Top rookies to watch out for

This year’s NBA Rookies are out to prove themselves on the professional court and five particular players have really started to stand out. Dennis Smith, Jr. of the Dallas Mavericks currently ranks the eighth among his draft class in terms of scoring (11.3 ppg) and third in assists (5.7). Of course, we also have our eye on the Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum, who is third among the rookies in scoring (14 ppg) and fifth in rebounds (7.0). And in what is arguably the most surprising ranking so far is the Chicago Bulls’ Lauri Markkanen, who is second in scoring (17.22 ppg) from his class with a 44.7 percent shooting average. Then again, it is Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers who is leading the rookies in scoring (18.5 ppg), rebounds (9.6) and assists (7.9).

NBA Power Rankings: The Memphis Grizzlies take the early lead

It’s too early to solidly call out Power Rankings at this point, especially with the teams feeling out new players and rotations, but the numbers are clearly skewed to the Memphis Grizzlies at this point. With a 5-1 record, the Grizzlies are practically undefeated with Chandler Parsons at the helm. Notable as well is that Parsons is currently leading the league in 3-point percentage.

The Young Duo to watch out for

When setting our eyes on younger players in the league, one particular duo stands out. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons seem almost unstoppable together at this point.
