Players Who Have Blown Us Away During The NBA Playoffs

The league would not be the same without them

We’ve seen some great plays and incredible talent at this year’s NBA Playoffs. But even then, there is no denying that some players have stood out amidst their teammates and competition. Without them, the landscape of the league would be completely different—and not in a good way.

Manu Ginobili (San Antonio Spurs)

Despite his age, Manu Ginobili is still putting up a game that could rival most of his younger colleagues. But if anything, Ginobili will be remembered this season for his game winning block against James Harden, in a showdown that put San Antonio ahead of Houston. Now the Spurs are poised to face off against the Golden State Warriors.

LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers)

There’s a reason why LeBron James has been nicknamed The King. To put it into perspective, LeBron has scored an average of 35.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5 assists per game in his last five games alone. His contribution to the Cleveland Cavalier’s undefeated record in the 2017 Playoffs is undisputable.

Isaiah Thomas (Boston Celtics)

He may have a height disadvantage, but the 5’8’’ Isaiah Thomas more than makes up for it in heart, talent and determination. He scored an almost unbelievable 53 points in the Celtics’ game against the Washington Wizards, 29 of which were scored in the fourth quarter and overtime alone.

Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors)

Scoring points, getting rebounds and planting assists—these are three of the most important skills a player should have and Draymond Green seems to have perfected them all. His penchant for triple-double games was particularly important in a series clinching matchup against the Utah Jazz. He effectively locked down Gordon Hayward, one of Utah’s biggest stars.

John Wall (Washington Wizards)

As arguably the best point guard in the Eastern Conference, John Wall has led the Wizards to the second round of the Playoffs. In this year’s Playoffs alone, he has scored an average of 26 points, 10 assists and 2.5 steals per game. There’s no doubt he currently stands as one of the league’s best defensive guards.
