Would You Dare Try These Extreme Sports?
Awaken the adventurer in you
Looking for a sport that gives you the kind of adrenaline rush that basketball, soccer or a 10-kilometer jog can’t give you? Try out these extreme sports and have the time of your life. Just make sure to have the proper equipment and take note of the risks that you’re putting yourself in. Otherwise, let’s live a little this weekend.
Sandboarding

If you happen to be in Ilocos Norte, make sure to visit the sand dunes and go sandboarding. Sandboarding is similar to skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing, only you don’t have to worry about getting involved in vehicular “accidents,” bumping into trees or getting attacked by an undersea predator. You can choose to ride your board down a slope or, if you’re feel like you have a need for more speed, have yourself pulled by a jeep and treat sand mounds as ramps to launch yourself into the air.
Mountain Biking

When someone takes a hike and reaches the top of a mountain, that person will say that he/she conquered it. If you truly want to “conquer” a mountain, bring a bike to the very top and ride it all the way down to the bottom. Try biking down the mountain in Sagada or Mount Pulag. You’re guaranteed to have a more thrilling experience going down those mountains than going there for vision quests or stargazing with your lover (note: depends on the lover). Injury is possible but a lot less likely if you invest in a sturdy bike and ride with experienced bikers.
Parkour

Parkour is an extreme form of running that was developed from military obstacle training. It involves running at high speeds, vaulting, rolling, flipping, climbing and other acrobatic movements. The goal is to get from point A to point B in the most creative way possible, quickly. Most parkour activities take place in cities, usually beginning on top of a tall building to the rooftop of another several kilometers away. To practice parkour, you need to be able think quickly, have powerful cardio, fast reflexes, spring-like legs and vice-like grips to treat the city like your own playground. If you think you’ve got what it takes, try it out in Makati or Bonifacio Global City. And bring a GoPro camera if you do.
