4 Features We Love From Nokia’s First Smartphone

Is this the comeback we’ve all been waiting for?

In the early aughts, Nokia ruled the world’s mobile manufacturing industry. It was the phone to have, whether you were a student or a working professional thanks to its sleek designs, durability and goofproof interface (plus built-in games. Snake anyone?) Then Nokia sold its handset business. Apple and Android came into the picture. And thus, followed the Finnish brand’s epic fall.

This year though, Nokia is ready to take back the reins of the mobile phone-making industry with its first smartphone, the Nokia 6, which comes out this February and will only be available in China (for now).

So what’s to love in Nokia’s first smartphone?

1 For one, all Nokia 6 handsets offer 64GB of internal storage, expandable to 128GB via a microSD card. So more room for apps, photos and videos!

2 The newer smartphones today feature a 12MP rear camera. But the Nokia 6 packs a pretty impressive 16-megapixel camera with face-detection auto-focus that takes clearer and crisper photos.

3 The latest from Nokia also features a display stack laminated together with a polarizer layer giving users excellent sunlight readability, a feature very few phones today have.

4 Nokia 6 definitely invested in sound quality. Its dual amplifiers deliver 6dB louder sound that gives you higher voice, deeper bass and unparalleled clarity. With the Dolby Atmos, the Nokia smartphone’s audio is more powerful and produces sound that seems to flow around the user.

Other key features include 5.5in full-HD display with protective 2.5D Gorilla Glass. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor along with the Adreno 505 GPU, 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and a 3,000mAh battery.

Hopefully, Q1 of 2017 will see more new Nokia smartphones (with an all-new Snake game??) that will be available in all markets.
