We Can’t Wait For These 2018 Game Releases. Here’s Why

New titles, new chapters and new experiences

Let the others have their movies—as long as the rest of us still have our games. This year is going to be an amazing one, with several of the biggest names in gaming coming back for next chapters. Then again, we can’t wait to get our hands on the new players entering the market as well.

Attack on Titan 2

March 2018; PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC

Set in the anime’s second season, it looks like Attack on Titan 2 is going to be a lot more involved than its predecessor. New RPG elements have been added to the title, such as being able to build relationships with the different characters from the series. There are also additional support and stealth gameplay elements.

Studio Ghibli’s magic makes it to the console world once again in this endearing ad magical title. The small cast in a beautiful world makes the JRPG of our dreams. Telling the story of Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum who wants to create a land of happily-ever-after. After being dethroned, Evan joins forces with Roland and Sky Pirate Tani to travel the world and start anew.

God of War

“We are not men. We are more than that,” Kratos says. “The responsibility is far greater.”

Persona Q2

Sometime in 2018

Acting as the follow-up to 2014’s Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, there is a lot of anticipation for Person Q2. And while there isn’t much information on it just yet, it looks as if the characters of Persona 5will be front and center—if the Phantom Thieves logo on the Japanese teaser website is anything to go on.

Red Dead Redemption 2

October 2018; PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC

Western titles do not get enough attention in the gaming world, but we’re fortunate enough to get Red Dead Redemption 2 this year. A Battle Royale mode is coming to the game, which may not be a surprise to some people, as well as other multiplayer modes such as Revive and Survive and Money Grab. And get ready, because the campaign will be based on character choice and morality-based decisions.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection

Sometime in 2018; PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC

The 30th anniversary of Street Fighter is going to mean great things for the rest of us, because Capcom is putting together twelve classic titles and putting them into one neatly packaged game.Breaking it down, we have: Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact and Street Fighter III: Third Strike.

Kingdom Hearts III

And with Sora, Donald and Goofy getting into trouble and saving the new worlds of Monsters Inc., Toy Story, Big Hero 6 and Tangled, we know there are new experiences about to be unfolded.
