Horizon: Zero Dawn Is Here & The PS4 Is Where To Play It
It’s an entirely different gaming experience that is worth the cost
Horizon: Zero Dawn is currently the hottest new title in the gaming world. And while it is exciting to play on the standard PlayStation 4, experiencing the same on the PlayStation 4 Pro is something on a different level.
But first, let’s talk about the game. Horizon: Zero Dawn is set in a large and overgrown open world, where humans are no longer the dominant race. In fact, the post-post-apocalyptic setting is run largely by machines. Players take control of Aloy, a hunter and archer living within the robot-controlled world. She’s been an outcast her whole life and has decided to discover the dangers that have barricaded her life.
It’s already Sony’s biggest new franchise launch on the PS4 and also considered the biggest PS4 launch in general since Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. In an official blogpost, PlayStation confirmed that it had worked hard to make Horizon: Zero Dawn beautiful on the standard console. But there are ways to enhance the overall experience. One is to sign up with Globe’s Broadband Play Plan 1898, which provides up to 10MBPS with the Sony PlayStation 4. But to make it even better, get your hands on the PlayStation 4 Pro.
From its opening scene alone, it is evident that Horizon: Zero Dawn is visually beautiful and the PS4 Pro is only capable of showcasing this all the more. Even with a standard 1080p HDTV, the images are of better quality. The images were rendered at a higher resolution, which was close to 4K, before shrinking it down to 1080p resolution. The results are smoother edges and a more stable overall image.
Naturally, those with a 4K TV will experience the full beauty how the game was intended. Even the most subtle detail is evident, from the stitching of Aloy’s outfit to the individual leaves on every tree and the finishing touches of every robot. The PS4 Pro only promises to do more with succeeding games, well beyond Horizon: Zero Dawn. The console is a spectacular machine and has so much processing power.
