What We Know So Far About The iPhone 12

What will the new generation bring?

In the calendar year, many days are marked by releases from the tech world. Every flagship release is headlined in multiple platforms, influencers holding a smartphone are shared by the millions—which is why it’s not surprising that the iPhone 12 has been making waves despite the mystery still clouding it.

Like every generation that came before it, the upcoming iPhone started the rumor mill weeks before its scheduled launch. But, at the very least, we know that the iPhone 12—which is only its assumed name—will be officially announced on October 13. But what will it have?

Variants 

There once was a time when the newest iPhone release came in just one variant but that time is long behind us. As Apple has come to the conclusion that its audience is not a one-size-fits all, the upcoming iPhone 12 is expected to release in several variants: 

• iPhone 12

• iPhone 12 Pro

• iPhone 12 Pro Max

• iPhone 12 Mini

Design

Throughout the years, the iPhone has stayed relatively true to its initial design: minimalist and unassuming. After all, other than the finish of the device, the disappearing bezel and the color options, not much else has changed. 

For the iPhone 12, however, there is a slightly new design that’s been talked about online. This includes an update on the metal edging, which is expected to sport a flat, chamfered-edge design—mirroring the latest look of the iPad Pro. And the new color that’s been creating some buzz? A navy blue option, which might replace the green of the iPhone 11, to mirror Pantone’s color of the year. 

Specs

When a tech giant like Apple releases multiple variants of its latest release, you know for a fact that they are not going to be arriving with the exact same specs. But a few things they will be sharing? The latest A14 bionic processor, LiDar depth mapping and 5G capacity.
