#ThrowbackThursday: Oldies That Are Making Major Comebacks
Nothing beats a classic
It’s probably normal to always look for something that reminds us of our childhood right? That’s why our parents still prefer to watch movies, like Casablanca and Godfather, and why our grandparents still prefer to give handwritten notes. These things are classics that will never go out of style and will be rediscovered by generations to come.
1. The NES Classic Edition
The original Nintendo Entertainment System was released in 1985 and turned even the doubters into gamers. Where else could you play Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., Tetris and The Legend Of Zelda? Nintendo released a remake of the console last year, and it was always sold out everywhere. You should consider yourself lucky if you know someone that knows someone who got their hands on it.
2. Nokia 3310
Over the past few years, there has been a loud clamor online for smartphone makers to produce phones with the same battery life and structural stability as the iconic Nokia 3310. Well, there’s been recent talk that it is coming back! Whether or not the original unit will be released as it was or if it will have modern updates is still unsure. But we’re hoping for the former, because no mobile game will ever give you the same thrill as Snake II.
3. Crash Bandicoot
There’s just something about Crash Bandicoot that is both frustrating and satisfying to play; there’s something about its simplicity and difficulty that makes the hours go by. Fortunately, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is bringing back the original three games to the PlayStation 4.
4. Tamagotchi
Tamagotchi is back and it’s back with a vengeance. It looks and works pretty much like how you remember, but it is now officially called Tamagotchi Friends. You have a virtual pet that you need to feed, bathe, teach and check up on every so often. A black and white version is available, but those who want to update the game can opt for a colored variant.
5. Movies and Television Shows
Over the last few years, we have seen some classics return to the big screen. Toy Story 3 ripped out our hearts, Finding Dory made us laugh and we have more than just The Incredibles 2 to look forward to. Not to mention the successful sequels of Boy Meets World and Full House.
6. Overalls
Fashion trends come and go and then they come back, just like the iconic overalls. Though usually in denim, the craze is also available in a variety of other fabrics. They’re easy to dress and versatile in style, just like we remember.
7. Chokers
Another fashion trend that has been seen in mainstream fashion are chokers. Chokers were huge back in the 90s but they are again being sported by celebrities and everyday individuals. They come in that nostalgic elastic material, or are built into some tops and dresses for a modern twist.
