How To Create Your Own Facebook Ads Through Globe myBusiness
Tips and tricks to help your brand stick out and reach the right people
There are 2.45 billion monthly active users of Facebook worldwide with the Philippines as the world's top social media user as mentioned in this study.
So it only makes sense for businesses to have a Facebook business page, however small. After all, everyone (and their dog) is on it these days. But with so much competition, how can you make your brand stand out? Well, Facebook marketing is a good place to start.
Ever scrolled through your Facebook feed and saw updates that have nothing to do with your friends or the pages you follow? Those are ads run by companies targeted at consumers like you. They look professional but, unknown to many, Facebook ads are pretty easy to create.
Don’t believe us? Take a look at this Globe myBusiness’s Facebook Ads guide and see for yourself:
BEFORE YOU START, DO SOME PRE-WORK
For things to flow smoothly, have these in place before you create and run Facebook Ads:
1. Complete the information on your Facebook business page.
Do you have a physical store? Or specific business hours? Make sure all the details are there. A business page with complete information will help customers know where and when to reach you. Also fill up details for business category, areas your business serves and your business email.
2. Look for good content and images to use.
You might already be posting on Facebook on a regular basis and that makes it easier to set up ads for your business page. But good visuals are key. Choose or create a good image or video that you can use for your ad.
3. Think about what you want to achieve.
Facebook will ask you what your objectives are for your ad campaign. We’ll show you the options later, but for now, think about what you want the ads to do. Do you want to get more leads or customers? Increase brand awareness (meaning, you just want more people to see your brand)? Or sell? Knowing your objective will help you create the right ad for your audience.
Once the pre-work is done, you can start getting into ad creation. If you’re a Globe myBusiness postpaid subscriber, you can create ads through the Globe myBusiness Ad Creator. Costs for Facebook ads will be billed directly to your postpaid line.
On average, small businesses spend about P50,000 on Facebook ads each month. It doesn't *always* matter how much you put in because there is no minimum spend. But do make sure you earn from what you paid for through professional Facebook ad management.
CREATE AND PUBLISH YOUR AD THROUGH GLOBE MYBUSINESS AD CREATOR
The ad-making process on Facebook through Globe myBusiness is simple and straightforward. Here are the basic steps for those with Globe myBusiness postpaid accounts:
1. Go to the Globe myBusiness Ad Creator platform.
Enter your Globe myBusiness postpaid number for account registration and the one-time passcode for verification. Great! Your Facebook Ads Manager account is now linked to your Globe postpaid line.
2. Link your Facebook page.
In order to create ads, your account needs to be linked to a Facebook page. Traffic will then be redirected to your page. Here, you can monitor activities just like you do on Facebook Page Manager. Make sure that you have administrator privileges to this linked Facebook page.
3. Allow the platform to manage your ads.
A pop-up will ask permission to access your page and publish ads on your behalf. It’s fine, click OK to proceed and select which page you want to run ads for.
4. Again, set your business objective.
What do you want to achieve with your Facebook ads? The platform gives you three options:
Lead Generation
For reaching new customers.
To create online forms sent to potential customers.
Messages
For contacting new customers.
To create chat pop-ups for users on Facebook Messenger.
Brand Awareness
For getting more people to know about your business.
To generate interest in your brand and redirect people to your Facebook page or website.
5. Choose the type of ad you want to run.
You have the option to run a display ad or a carousel ad.
Display Ads
The ads that you see when you scroll through Facebook. They sometimes show up on the main feed or on the sidebar.
They look like regular posts.
Carousel Ads
Lets users scroll through different items in one ad.
It takes up as much space as a display ad but features individual products or offers.
6. Create your ad mock-up.
This is where choosing images or videos in advance will come in handy:
Upload a photo or video that you'd like to use.
Images have to be in jpeg or png format, with a maximum file size of 10mb.
Facebook also has free stock images available, in case you don’t have a suitable photo.
The ad creator will recommend the best size for images to fit into your ad format (display or carousel).
Create your copy that goes with your ad. This includes coming up with a catchy headline and a compelling call to action (CTA).
The CTA will be the text that goes on the action button at the bottom of your ad, like “Shop Now” or “Learn More."
But remember:
If you chose Lead Generation, select the type of form to use from the templates provided.
For Carousel Ads, upload all the photos you intend to use in your image carousel.
7. Preview your ad.
When all the information is complete, you can see how your ad will appear on Facebook.
Few people bother to click “Read more” on an ad, so short and sweet gets the message across. Then, when you’re satisfied with how your ad looks, click “Save and Launch.”
8. Choose your budget.
To simplify the process, Globe has defined two ad budgets for users.
You can have P500 worth of Facebook advertising that promotes your brand for up to three days.
If you have a bigger budget, you can opt for P1000 worth of ads, which will run up to one week.
Do note that it includes a 15% processing fee and 12% VAT on top of the advertising costs. Full fees are billed at the end of the ad campaign period, directly to your Globe postpaid account. After you select your budget, your ad will be sent to Facebook for approval.
9. Sit back and see the results.
Ads usually get approved within 24 hours. Use the dashboard to see how your ads are doing practically in real-time.
If you’re not satisfied with the results, you have the option to go back and tweak your ad. Revisions are usually approved within eight hours, so you don’t need to worry about losing time.
That’s it! The platform easily walks you through the process of creating your first Facebook ad. Told ya it wasn’t as complicated as it sounds.
