Almost every other person does some shopping online. Take your adventures in e-commerce to another level by snooping out the best deals in town. There are many websites offering exclusive deals for online shoppers. It's just a matter of doing some research before adding an item on your shopping cart. Local airlines hold online seat sales on a regular basis. Travelocity, Expedia, Agora, and TravelBook.PH offer discounted rates on hotel accommodations and tour packages. Plus, majority of e-commerce sites have flash sales, offering ridiculous discounts at a limited time to stimulate sales. You just have to have your ears pinned to the ground.
2 Learn new things
If you've always wanted to learn how to play the guitar or speak Italian, just get online. You need not spend a ridiculous amount in tuition fees to pick up these skills as there is an abundance of free courses online. Scoot on over to Duolingo for language courses and Guitar Tricks for guitar lessons. If you're the more cerebral type, visit Coursera.org and become a student in some of the world's leading universities, for free! Take a course in “Buddhism and Modern Psychology” at Princeton University, “Introduction to Logic” at Stanford University, or “The Evolving Universe” at Caltech. These would definitely add a bit of luster on your resume. If for nothing else, they make for cool conversation starters.
3 Make a difference
A number of historic events have showed the power of social media, the latest of which being the national elections in the Philippines. Netizens now realize that they can make a difference in the turn of historical events. If you're still not an involved netizen, it's about time to make your voice heard. Sign online petitions of causes which appeal to you. Visit Change.org, where some 100 million people in almost 200 countries are creating change in their communities. Support non-government organizations doing good work by sharing their latest projects on your social media accounts. More importantly, always read before you click. Check the source of any piece of information you come across before sharing it online.
