Tech Thursday: Tribe Star Wars Power Bank Deck

It’s the only power bank you’ll need if you’re a Star Wars fan

The Basics

The need to always be connected has increased the number of gadgets we need, like a power bank to make sure our favorite deivces never run out of juice. But with so many to choose from, which one should you get?

Tribe’s Star Wars Power Bank Deck is a 4,000 mAh (note to reader: milliamp hour is used to measure the capacity and strength of a battery. So, the higher the mAh, the longer it will last) portable and rechargeable battery. It can charge many of the devices we use daily, like mobile phones, tablets and cameras, and twice as fast, too. It also comes in four Star Wars designs—BB 8, Darth Vader, R2-D2 and Storm Trooper—that has anti-slip rubber coating on the back and with 3D surface print. Lastly, the Star Wars Power bank is allowed for use in an airplane thanks to its safety features including, temperature control, overcharge, over discharge, short circuit and overcurrent protection.

The Star Wars Power Bank Deck is available at for P1,138.

Fun Feature: anti-slip rubber coating

The Star Wars Power Bank Deck, which is 11x6, 7x0.8cm in size (lightweight and fits in one’s hands), comes with a Micro USB cable.

Real Talk

With its sleek and minimalist design, Tribe’s Star Wars Power Bank Deck will surely catch the eye of Warsies as well as style-savvy individuals. And the fact that the size is actually portable and lightweight—lighter than an iPhone 5—makes it ideal for everyday travel. As for charging time, the power bank can fully charge a mobile phone or gadget up to three times.

If you get a BB8, RII-D2 or Storm Trooper power bank, which all come in white, the only downside is it gets pretty dirty easily. Have some wet tissues in handy to clean dirt stains right away. Meanwhile, our only area for improvement would be to include a cable for iPhone users. But other than that, we couldn’t ask for more.
