Gadgets You'll Want To Get Your Hands On In 2018
Are you ready for the future?
As the years have gone on, technology has fallen into the trend of becoming stronger and smarter and yet smaller. What used to be brick phones are now sleek and comfortable to the touch. Information that needed an entire room’s worth of space can now fit in the palm of our hands. Ideas that used to boggle our minds have become reality.
At this point, it’s become glaringly obvious that there are no signs of slowing down. And 2018 is definitely out to prove this.

Virtual reality is a thing of the present, but it’s been a little difficult to mass-sell the idea because companies have been a little exclusive with their VR material. The headsets normally only cater to the best flagship devices or the strongest computers or the most recent gaming consoles. But the Oculus Go is changing all that.
Announced in October, the Oculus Go has promised to provide the full VR experience without the need for a phone or a computer. It’s been called the “easiest way to get into VR” and the self-proclaimed all-in-one headset does have its promising features, which includes over 1,000 games, social apps and 360-degree experiences, as well as a vast library of movies, games, sports and popular television shows.
The breathable fabrics are meant to make the Oculus Go headset that much more comfortable and it’s fully adjustable to fit anyone—even people who wear glasses. And have we mentioned it’s coming out at just USD200?
Google Pixel 3

2017 saw a lot of great flagships get released and while the Google Pixel 2 flew a little under the radar, it is still considered one of the best smartphones of the year. And while the official specs, features and design haven’t been released just yet, there are some exciting expectations rolling around for the Pixel 3.
It is said that the Pixel 3 will be powered by the octa-core Kyro 385 CPU with four 2.8GHz high-power cores and four 1.8GHz low power cores, which pretty much ensure that the upcoming flagship will be a powerful one. A camera upgrade is also more than likely to be in the works in the form of a dual-lens camera.
In terms of design, it is highly possible that Google will go the bezel-less route, much like its Apple and Samsung competitors. The Active Edge feature is also likely to hold more features above and beyond its activation of Google Assistant. Moreover, wireless charging seems to be a staple that the Pixel 3 will debut for its line.

Nintendo made the announcement earlier this year and noted how the support from fans was all the proof they needed to keep manufacturing the 8-bit system. “Fans have shown their unbridled enthusiasm for these Classic Edition systems,” it said “So Nintendo is working to put many more of them on store shelves.”

Everything is getting smarter—even our speakers. From the birth of the concept and throughout its infancy stage, the real players in smart speakers have been Google and Amazon. The market, however, is about to get a real shakedown with Apple’s upcoming HomePod.
Not only is the HomePod going to be a standard smart speaker that can book you a Grab, play your music and tell you your schedule via voice control, but it’s going to be an amazing wireless speaker as well. Premium quality and multi-room audio? Count us in.
Fitbit Ionic

When Fitbit first came out with its bands, there was a lot of hype and potential surrounding the brand. But as the years have passed, cheaper alternatives have become the go-to in smartwatch health. But with the new Ionic, the pioneer is back with a vengeance.
Technically, the Fitbit Ionic is already available for purchase, but it won’t be until 2018 that the device will truly shine. As it is, the wearable has advanced health and fitness capabilities, music features, built-in GPS and can already run third-party apps. But next year, the amount of support for the wearable is expected to grow exponentially.
2018 might just be the year that technology shocks all of us—in the best ways possible.
