Listen to Your Favorite Tunes Without the Hassle With These Wireless Earphones

These wireless earphones take the fuss and muss out of the listening experience

Roughly six years ago, Apple removed the headphone jack from the iPhone 7, changing the music-listening game as we know it. Citing an enhanced listening experience for audiophiles as one of the reasons for the move, they instead gave us earbuds with a Lightning cord tip, which would then lead to the creation of the cult favorite Bluetooth earphones.

A pair of wireless earpieces is said to deliver better audio quality. Not to mention, saves you from having to untangle the wires that tie into themselves in your bag or back pocket. This explains why a number of phone models are ditching the 3.5mm jack in favor of the more convenient wireless earphone.

If you want to shop around for the best wireless earphones to complement your favorite playlist, check the lineup we got for you here.

Apple AirPods

Apple AirPods will always have a well-desrved spot in the line-up of the best true wireless earbuds because they’re the very reason why the trend of cordless earpieces came to be. It doesn’t stop there, of course: AirPods didn’t become a trendsetting piece of tech for nothing, after all.

In terms of sound quality, the AirPods give out the best acoustic effects. Despite their small, pocketable size, they deliver crisp, clear beats and melodies perfect for getting you pumped or urging you into a state of nirvana. When it comes to connectivity, the AirPods come with a W1 chip that enables automatic pairing with your Apple devices (including the Apple Watch!), for as long as you’re wearing the earpieces and you keep the AirPods’ case open next to the device you’re pairing with.

Battery life ranks decently at a five-hour capacity, but this is expected to improve with Apple’s plans of releasing a second version of the AirPods—this time with a wireless charging case. The Apple AirPods are available for a starting price of P7,000.

Jabra Elite 65t

Those who have tested and used the Jabra Elite 65t swear by the excellent fit of this line of earphones. These compact earpieces come in three different sizes, making for a more comfortable fit for every wearer.

Priced at about P9,000, the Jabras also have noise-isolating features, which prevent ambient noise from getting into the earphones. This functionality can be modified, especially if you’re biking or running, and you need to stay aware of what’s happening around you. In which case, you can adjust how much sound from the outside you want to hear on the accompanying Jabra Sound+ app.

Optoma NuForce BE Free5

If you’re looking for a pair of wireless earphones that saves you worry over the price tag but keeps all the nifty features of the preferred models on the market, this set from Optoma NuForce may be your best bet. For a relatively affordable price of P5,000 to P8,000, the BE Free5 earphones offer great value with its excellent sound quality, noise isolation capabilities, and battery life—a full 13 hours worth.

You’ll find the volume and other controls on the earbuds, which also contain an LED display on each piece to show you if your earphones are pairing, already connected, or if you’re dipping low on battery.

To keep the earphones in place, the BE Free5 come with wings, which can be handy if you’re planning to hit the gym or go for a run. You’ll also get four pairs of eartips out of the box.

Bose SoundSport Free

When it comes to top-of-the-line audio products, Bose has been a familiar name since many of us can remember. This household name’s tradition of bringing nothing less than clear, crisp sound continues with the SoundSport Free cordless earphones, which boast some really neat specs.

For one, you can enjoy wireless connectivity with the SoundSport Free for up to 30 feet. Adjusting volume and skipping past tracks is simple with the device’s easy-to-operate control system, found right within the earbuds. You can even use the earphones’ companion app to find your earbuds in case you forget where you left them (a situation most of us are all too familiar with).

Although the buds are larger compared to its competitors, the larger size locks in the buds securely with a snug fit. The 5-hour battery life of the earphones gets an additional 10 hours through the charging case included in the package, which is priced at about P16,500.

Sony WF-SP700N Wireless In-Ear Sports

Like its name implies, this pair of wireless earphones is for the sporty audiophile. Arguably its best feature, the Sony WF-SP700N Wirless In-Ear Sports buds are sweat-resistant, so you won’t mind using them while you’re actively doing your workout. They also weigh a lightweight 7.6 g each.

There’s a power slash universal button on each of the buds, which you can also use to pause and play your favorite tunes, take or end a call, and skip tracks. However, these pose one minor design setback: you won’t find the volume controls on the earbuds. You have to connect the earphones to an app that lets you choose the setting you want. These earbuds retail at approximately P9,500.

Even those who swear by wired earphones have to admit: by the looks of it, the trend of wireless earpieces is only going to get more popular from here on out. If you’re rearing to get into the game, it pays to know which ones make the cut in terms of quality, comfort, and functionality.
