Anyone born and raised in the Philippines knows how important Holy Week is. Besides being an integral part of the predominant religion, it’s become something that entire family traditions are built on. Self-reflection first. Family festivities later.

Whether or not a practicing Roman Catholic, the call to pause and do a little self-check is something that everyone could benefit from. Then, of course, there are the family festivities that Pinoys have completely planned out or decide on at the last minute. If you’re looking for a stress-free weekend, you best go with the former because chances are a lot of families will be out and about, too, this Easter.

Save yourself from worrying about traffic or thinking up new and exciting plans and bump up these Easter events to the top of your weekend itinerary instead!

#1: Treat the kids to Easter egg hunting.

Novotel Manila Araneta Center is hosting a fun Easter Egg Hunt for the kiddos complete with a Pororo and Friends meet & greet, yummy snacks, games and a bubble show! #2: Have a ball at Ball Pit Manila.

Head over to the biggest adult-only ball pit in the Philippines! Make this your Easter Day family affair: Kids 3 years old and older are allowed in for free to join in on the fun.

You can enjoy an hour of playtime (with free coffee!) for only P299 per person. Just be sure you book in advance so you don’t have to shoulder the walk-in fee. You can also buy fresh pair of socks at the venue just in case.

#3: Celebrate with an Easter feast!

What better way to make up for the fasting from Holy Week, right? Most restaurants anticipate the number of families dining out on Easter Sunday, so they’re sure to offer Easter specials like the eat-all-you-can buffet or Easter-themed lunches.

The Peninsula Manila is offering an Easter Merienda Buffet at The Upper Lobby from March 29 to April 1, Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday (3PM to 6PM).

#5: Take a trip out of town.

Traveling to Batanes may get expensive and requires planning months ahead, but the trip is well worth it.
