How do I find apps to install?
To find apps, begin by launching the App Store from the homescreen of your Apple TV. Once the App Store is open, there are four ways to find apps:
Featured Apps—If you've used the App Store on the iPhone or in iTunes, the layout of this App Store will be familiar to you. The main screen includes a series of featured apps at the top and then collections of newly released apps, popular and top-selling apps, and apps selected by Apple for promotion. Use the remote to navigate this screen until you find the app you want to install
Top Charts—Select the "Top Charts" category in the menu across the top of the screen (if it's not displayed, swipe all the way up on the remote's touchpad). Once you do that, you can view apps in ways like "most downloaded", "biggest sellers", "highest grossing", etc.
Categories—Go to the options in the menu at the top of the screen. You can browse apps in categories like Games, Education, Lifestyle, and News
Search—The final option in the top-level menu. Select it and use the onscreen keyboard to type in the name or type of app you're looking for.

What is the Siri Remote?
The Siri remote has a multi-touch pad, buttons for triggering the menu, the home screen, and Siri. This can control, play/pause, or adjust the volume of your content.
Turn it 90 degrees to the left, and it also doubles as a game remote, with accelerometer and gyroscope sensors built in!
How do I use the Siri Remote?
The Siri Remote has three distinct movements: "Swipe", "Tap", and "Click".
Swipe is your primary way of moving throughout items on the screen. You can move your finger in small swipes to activate an individual icon's parallax feature, or use big swipes to move through icons and menus quickly. You can also use slow or fast side-to-side swipes within a piece of content to scrub through a video timeline.
When you lightly tap your finger on the touchscreen glass, this lets you soft select an item and preview it.
Click enters you into whatever you've selected. (You can also click-and-hold to enter edit menus in certain apps and interfaces.)
I'm having issues with my screen. What should I do?
If you see a blank, flickering/static screen or an "HDCP" alert, try the following steps below:
- Unplug both ends of your HDMI cable, then firmly plug them back in.
- Turn off your TV and receiver, unplug your Apple TV from power, then plug it back in. Turn your TV and receiver back on.
- In your TV menu, make sure that you select the HDMI input that matches the HDMI port connected to your Apple TV. Check your TV manual for help.
- Connect your Apple TV directly to your TV instead of your receiver or HDMI switch, since the issue might be with your receiver or switch.
- Try a different HDMI cable to see if your cable causes the issue.
- On your Apple TV, go to "Settings" > "Audio and Video" and adjust the HDMI and display settings.
If you can't go to to your settings because of a blank screen, use your remote instead. For Apple TV (4th generation), simply hold the "Menu" and "Volume" down for 5 seconds. Your Apple TV will then switch to a new resolution every 20 seconds. Select "OK" to choose a resolution, or "Cancel" to quit.
If you're encountering issues with the color, tint, or brightness, you can check the picture mode on your TV. Make sure to use standard or normal picture mode. Check your TV's user guide for more information, then check the video settings on your Apple TV by following the steps below:
- On your Apple TV, go to Settings > Audio & Video.
- Select HDMI Output and try each of these settings: Auto, YCbCr, RGB High, and RGB Low.
If you have an Apple TV (4th generation), check the Display Accommodations on your Apple TV. Settings like Color Filters and Invert Colors can affect the color, tint, and brightness of your TV.
Does my Apple TV come with a warranty?
Yes! Your Apple TV comes with a 1 year repair and 7 day replacement warranty.
I'm having audio issues with my Apple TV. What do I do?
If you hear static or don't hear any sound on your Apple TV simply follow the steps below:

- Turn off your TV and receiver (if you use one), unplug your Apple TV from power, then plug it back in. Turn your receiver and TV back on.

- On your Apple TV, select "Settings" > "Audio & Video".
- Make sure Audio Out is set to "Apple TV".
- Change the Audio Mode from "Auto" to "16 bit".
For distorted sound or audio-sync issues, you might need to turn off volume leveling or other audio-processing controls on your TV or receiver. Check the manual for help.
