Using your computer's web browser, go to http://192.168.1.1. In the window prompt, select ‘user' as the Type then enter "user" as your default password.
To check if you're connected to the internet or not, click the ‘Basic Status' Menu and refer to the ‘Connection Status' under the ‘WAN Status'.
If you want to view your SIM card status and other parameters, simply hit the ‘Basic Status' Menu then click on the ‘Advanced' link under the WAN Status.
For the LAN Status, you just have to click on the ‘Advanced' link to see the IP addresses and other LAN parameters.
After that, get the signal readings. Don't worry, it's very easy to do. Just click on the ‘Basic Status' Menu and look at the RSSI and Ec/lo.
You can also check your connection status just by clicking on the ‘Connection' Menu. On the page, you can see the Profile settings, PPP connection type if it's manual or automatic, and the connection status under the PPP status.
