What is HBO GO?

HBO GO is an on-demand streaming service that allows HBO TV / HBO GO subscribers to enjoy thousands of hours of exciting content over multiple devices, anytime, anywhere.


From exclusive HBO and HBO Asia original series, movies and documentaries, to Hollywood blockbusters, Asian dramas and movies, and even an extensive selection of kids-friendly content, there’s just something for everyone!

What can I do with HBO GO?

On HBO GO, you will get to enjoy:

  • Unlimited access to thousands of hours of award-winning HBO and HBO Asia original series and movies, Hollywood blockbusters and Asian content
  • Every episode, every season of every HBO Original series - uncut.
  • The latest Hollywood blockbusters before other streaming services
  • New HBO Original episodes same time as the US
  • Multi-language subtitles to go with the series/ movies
  • Downloading your favorite shows to watch offline

How fast does my internet connection have to be in order to watch movies and shows on HBO GO?

The minimum required bit rate is 512kb/sec. (Please note that with a lower connection speed, the video quality will be less desirable). HBO GO employs an adaptive streaming technology that automatically matches your internet speed and the bit rate of the videos.

Can I cast HBO GO to my TV?

Yes! HBO GO supports the following devices and operating systems:

  • Airplay via Apple TV: tvOS 11 to 13
  • Chromecast: All versions

Can I filter age-appropriate content with HBO GO?

Yes! You may turn on the ‘Parental Control’ feature in the Settings menu. This is in place to ensure that children are not exposed to content that are not suitable for their age when they use HBO GO. The Parental Control feature is controlled by a 4-digit PIN and different levels of restriction: General (G) Parental Guidance (PG), PG13, 16, 18, 21.


After setting your Parental Control PIN you will be asked to enter the PIN whenever you play any content that is equivalent to or exceeds the restricted level.

How soon are movies and shows added to HBO GO?

HBO GO adds new movies and TV show episodes every single week throughout the year. You can even enjoy the latest episodes of HBO Original Series on the same day as it premieres in the US!


Please note that new movies will be available on HBO GO after they premiere on TV.

How do I sign up for HBO GO?

You can subscribe to HBO GO using the following methods:
  • Subscription via text of keyword to 8080 for Globe Prepaid, Globe Postpaid and Globe Platinum customers
  • In-app subscription via App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)
  • Subscription via the Buy Load section of the GCash app (under Daily Deals)


How do I subscribe to HBO GO?

1. Text

Just key in any of the following subscription keywords and send to 8080

  • HBO GO 199 - 1-month access
  • HBO GO 399 - 3-month access
  • HBO GO 1190 - 1-year access

Once successfully charged, you will receive a text containing your voucher code and redemption instructions. Copy the code and go to https://www.hbogoasia.ph/globeredeem to activate your HBO GO subscription.


2. Google Play 

Download the HBO GO App from the Google Play store

  • Create an account with a vaild email address
  • Tap on Subscribe Now to purchase a subscription through Google Play
  • Choose Globe as payment method and pay with your Google Play account

Note: Your subscription will auto-renew every month amounting to P222.88 VAT Inc.


How do I cancel my HBO GO subscription?

If you subscribed via text, your subscription will not auto-renew. You may simply wait for your activated subscription to end. 


If you subscribed via Google Play:

  • Go to Google Play Store on your Android Device (you must be signed in using the Google account that is used to pay for your HBO GO subscription)
  • Select the Menu icon
  • Select Subscriptions
  • Select HBO GO
  • Select Cancel Subscription
  • Select Cancel Subscription again to confirm


If you cancel your subscription, access to HBO GO will cease only at the end of the current billing cycle.


Can I also subscribe to HBO GO using my Globe At Home Postpaid account?

For now, we encourage you to subscribe using your Globe Prepaid/Postpaid/Platinum number. You may subscribe via text, GCash (under Daily Deals), or Google Play.

I’m a Globe At Home Prepaid customer. Can I also register via text?

Yes, but you will need to do this via your modem dashboard:


1. Access your modem dashboard by visiting https://192.168.254.254/ and logging using your modem’s user and password

        a. NOTE: This is different from your network name (WiFi / SSID name) and network password (WiFi / SSID password)           

         b.  If you have not changed it yet, your modem’s default username and password can be found on the device information sticker of your modem.Go to the SMS tab of your modem

2. Go to the SMS tab of your modem dashboard and key in any of the following subscription keywords. Then, send to 8080

  • HBO GO 199 - 1-month access
  • HBO GO 399 - 3-month access
  • HBO GO 1190 - 1-year access


Once successfully charged, you will receive a text containing your voucher code and redemption instructions. Copy the code and go to https://www.hbogoasia.ph/globeredeem to activate your HBO GO subscription.

I’m a Globe At Home customer who is eligible for the 3-month access to HBO GO. How do I claim it?

Follow these simple steps: 

  • Download and open the GlobeOne app.  Enroll your GFiber account details in the GlobeOne app.
  •  Claim your HBO GO voucher in the “Just For You” section of the app
  • Once processed, click to reveal the voucher code and view the instructions
  • Go to www.hbogoasia.ph/globeredeem or go to hbogoasia.ph and choose activate your voucher on the Subscription Method page
  • Enter the HBO GO voucher code
  • Enjoy watching!

Until when can I redeem my 3-month access?

You have to redeem your access within 60 days upon receipt of your voucher.

I have an active paid subscription to HBO GO. Will I be able to redeem the offer?

No, the voucher can only be activated by customers who don’t have an active HBO GO subscription.

What happens to my HBO GO access once my access from Globe At Home expires?

At the end of the 3-month period, you will get a notification that your subscription has expired. You will have the option to renew your subscription to the paid version of HBO GO via GlobeOne, Google Play Store, or App Store by updating your subscription on the app. 

I received a notification that my HBO GO subscription will no longer renew after May 15. What does this mean?

If you’re a Globe Postpaid, Globe Platinum, and Globe At Home customer, your subscription will not renew after May 15, 2023.


For example: If your HBO GO subscription with Globe renews on May 13, 2023, you will still be able to access HBO GO’s content until June 12, 2023. By June 13, your subscription will no longer renew and you will lose access to HBO GO’s content until you re-subscribe again.
