Should I use the Platinum All-Month Surf as a hotspot or with my portable Wi-Fi?

The Platinum All-Month Surf on ThePLATINUM Plan or ThePLATINUM Plan PLUS is intended for personal mobile use only. Using this regularly as a hotspot or with a portable Wi-Fi may drive your personal mobile data usage excessively high. After exceeding the 60GB threshold within one bill cycle, your mobile data experience may change. This is to ensure the best network experience for all Platinum customers in line with Globe’s Fair Use Policy, which you may read about at www.globe.com.ph/fup.

I thought your All-Month Surf is unlimited. Why is there a 60GB threshold, will my data experience change if I reach this?

While Platinum customers enjoy worry-free surfing for their mobile data needs, the Platinum All-Month Surf is still covered by Globe’s Fair Use Policy. Exceeding 60GB of mobile data within one bill cycle is excessively high for personal use. Once the 60GB threshold is breached, your mobile data experience will change to maintain network quality for all Globe Platinum customers.

How can I manage my browsing so that I won’t breach my monthly threshold?

How can I confirm if I’ve exceeded the threshold of my Platinum All-Month Surf subscription?

Before breaching your monthly threshold, you’ll receive this text reminder: 


Hi! We've noticed that your mobile data usage is about to exceed the 60GB threshold for this bill cycle. For now, your mobile data experience will remain unchanged. This is just a friendly reminder that your mobile data usage is covered by Globe's Fair Use Policy which ensures the best network experience for all Globe Platinum customers. You may read about it at www.globe.com.ph/fup.


To learn how to manage your mobile data usage, you may contact your Relationship Manager or Thea, the Digital Assistant, at glbe.co/thea-gp for assistance. Data charges may apply.


Upon breaching the monthly threshold at 60GB, you’ll also receive this text:


Dear customer, your mobile data usage has reached the 60GB threshold for this bill cycle. To maintain network quality for all Globe Platinum customers, your mobile data experience will now change. You may read about Globe's Fair Use Policy at www.globe.com.ph/fup. Don't worry, your mobile data experience will be back to normal at the start of the next bill cycle.


In the meantime, you may avail of a Surf Refresh promo to extend your threshold for this bill cycle. To learn more, text SURF REFRESH INFO to 8080.

I’ve reached the 60GB threshold. When will my All-Month Surf refresh and what are my options?

Don’t worry, your Platinum All-Month Surf will refresh on your next bill cycle. 


In the meantime, you may avail of these Surf Refresh promos to extend your data threshold:


  • Platinum Surf Refresh 299 (5GB/15days)
  • Platinum Surf Refresh 599 (10GB/15 days)
  • Platinum Surf Refresh freebie (5GB/15 days)


You can subscribe to more than one Surf Refresh promo at a time. The data allowance of these promos will combine and the validity will be based on the one you most recently subscribed to.


Since Surf Refresh promos can’t be charged to your consumable allowance, they will be billed on-top of your monthly plan.

Can I subscribe to the Surf Refresh freebie more than once?

The Surf Refresh freebie may only be redeemed once per mobile number. Once redeemed, you’ll see this in your bill but without any charges.

What happens if my Surf Refresh expired but it still has remaining data allowance?

When your Surf Refresh expires, the remaining data allowance is forfeited.

What if my Platinum All-Month Surf already refreshed on the next bill cycle but I still have remaining allowance on my Surf Refresh?

You can still use your remaining data allowance from your active Surf Refresh, and it will be consumed first before the Platinum All-Month Surf.
