Steps on How to Activate VoLTE

To start making/receiving calls over LTE while abroad, switch on VoLTE on your device settings. Data roaming is not required. Regular roaming calls and text rates will apply and there will be no additional charges for using VoLTE. LTE is only available for Prepaid if a customer has an active data roaming subscription.

STEP 1: Open “Settings.”

STEP 2: Choose “Cellular.”

STEP 3: Go to “Cellular Data Options” > “Voice & Data” and turn on “VoLTE.”

SAMSUNG

STEP 1: Open “Settings.”

STEP 2: Choose “Connections.”

STEP 3: Go to “Mobile Networks” and turn on “VoLTE Calls.”

HUAWEI

STEP 1: Open “Settings.”

STEP 2: Go to “Mobile Network” > “Mobile Data.”

STEP 3: Turn on “VoLTE Calls.”

What's the benefit of using VoLTE while roaming?

VoLTE stands for Voice-over-LTE, a technology that lets you make voice calls over the LTE network, rather than the 2G and 3G networks we normally use.

 

VoLTE will come in handy abroad because selected roaming partners have decommissioned their 2G and/or 3G networks, leaving customers without access to calls and texts. 

 

With VoLTE roaming now available, you're sure to have access to calls and texts with our VoLTE-ready roaming partners.

How can I use VoLTE roaming abroad?

To start using VoLTE abroad, make sure:

  1. You’re using a LTEVoLTE-capable handset and VoLTE is enabled on your device
  2. Your account is VoLTE-provisioned 
  3. You’re connected to a VoLTE-ready roaming partner

I'm not VoLTE-provisioned, how do I request VoLTE activation in my account?

Postpaid customers are automatically provisioned with VoLTE. If you're a Prepaid/TM customer without an active VoLTE account, you may request activation via Globe’s official Facebook (FB) Messenger account.

Is there an additional charge for using VoLTE roaming abroad?

Regular roaming rates will apply to calls and texts done via VoLTE. There are no additional data charges for using VoLTE.
