Globe Secures 1,451 Permits in First Half of 2021

Globe secured 1,451 permits from local government units across the country in the first half of the year.

Aided by the government’s Bayanihan 2 law, Globe was able to hasten builds in more underserved areas. “Getting these permits have always been a challenge before but with more LGUs now realizing what connectivity can do to improve their services to their constituents and the national government’s call to further ease the permitting process, we have secured more permits now compared to the previous years. These permits will allow us to bring better services to more customers who rely on strong connectivity to address their day-to-day needs,” said Joel Agustin, Globe SVP for Program Delivery Network Technical Group.

Globe secured the most permits in Northern Luzon with a total of 395 while Visayas and Metro Manila (including Rizal) LGUs released 314 and 312 permits, respectively.

Metro Manila, Cebu, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan and Bulacan were the top five provinces with most permits while 14 others gave out at least 20 permits or more.

When it comes to cities or towns, Makati City issued the most permits with 67 while Davao City and Quezon City granted 55 and 53 permits, respectively. 22 other cities and municipalities released at least 10 permits or more.

“These permits will allow us to sustain the momentum of installing more cell towers in key locations in the provinces. The new installations will also further decongest our network which in return, will significantly improve the call, SMS, and data browsing services we give to our customers,” added Agustin.

Globe’s relentless efforts to improve the country’s state of connectivity has led to it being the most consistent mobile network for two consecutive quarters in 2021, as verified by Ookla®.

The telco remained the leader in nationwide mobile consistency, ahead of the competition. The Consistency Score in Q1 2021 was 70.43 and Q2 2021 was 75.981
