Globe Restores Services in More Towns in Bohol, Cebu, and Leyte
As of January 4, 2022
Extends free SMS blast services to LGUs for disaster response
#GlobeOfGood total donations reach ₱19.5 Million
Globe has restored network services in more towns in Bohol, Cebu, and Leyte bringing Visayas closer to completion. The municipalities of Anda, Dauis, Loon and Panglao in Bohol, San Fernando in Cebu, and Baybay, Albuera in Leyte, and Limasawa in Southern Leyte have completed repairs.
Globe, through the help of local government units, has made it possible to hasten restoration efforts across different provinces hit by Typhoon Odette.
Network restoration continues in Cebu after Typhoon Odette caused infrastructure damage and downed power services in the province and key cities.
In Mindanao, network services have also been restored in Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte.
Disaster Response Communication Assistance to LGUs
Globe equipped local government units in areas hit by Typhoon Odette with the M360 platform, providing a one-time package with free SMS blast services for 30 days. This initiative aims to aid LGUs in their ongoing community disaster relief and recovery operations and to complement areas with restored cellular signal.
Fa Roa-Carbonilla, Globe Business Account Manager for Eastern Visayas, conducts an overview and M360 training session with the Provincial DRRMO officers of Southern Leyte.
With this service, LGUs are able to immediately send important updates to their offices and constituencies via text message—a much-needed resource in disaster response where quick dissemination of information is crucial.
Palawan, Southern Leyte, and Cebu municipalities Naga, Cordova, and the city of Mandaue, were among the first to avail of this free service. Other LGUs affected by Typhoon Odette are also encouraged to make use of this assistance via Globe Business representatives until February 28, 2022.

Globe Network Services Up in Palawan

Network repairs in Palawan made difficult by fallen bridges, posing challenges in hauling of materials
In San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, reinforcements from South Luzon have arrived paving the way for needed immediate repairs. Despite spending three nights on-ground, the team continues to work 24/7 to ensure network restoration in the area.

Globe Services Restored in Eastern Samar, Agusan del Norte, and Surigao del Sur
As of 12 p.m., December 21, 2021
Ongoing restoration in Siargao, Palawan and other areas
Mindanao restorations near completion
Globe has restored services in Eastern Samar, Agusan del Norte, and Surigao del Sur, as more areas become operational. Restoration efforts in typhoon affected areas in Mindanao are progressively nearing completion.
In the Visayas, certain areas remain challenged due to several damaged roads, bridges, and power lines. Globe’s network engineers on site are working to bring services back to normal.
Globe field teams are currently on ground in Siargao, another hard hit area and are putting up the needed equipment to put mobile services back.
In some parts of Palawan, particularly north of Puerto Princesa, collapsed bridges have posed delays in restoration efforts particularly hauling materials to provide temporary aerial fiber in these areas.
Globe is working closely with respective LGUs in clearing operations and infrastructure repairs to get communication lines in typhoon-hit areas.
Free and Unlimited GoWiFi
Globe is also providing FREE and UNLIMITED GoWiFi in select malls, government offices, and airports in Visayas and Mindanao areas affected by Typhoon Odette.

Globe Starts Service Restoration Efforts in Select Areas in Visayas and Mindanao
As of 11 a.m., December 17, 2021
Due to strong winds and torrential rains brought by super typhoon Odette, Globe’s data and mobile services have been affected in select areas in Visayas and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, our LTE@Home Postpaid, Broadband Wireline services, and GOMO services are up and available.
At the moment, Globe’s technical teams have started restoration efforts in areas where it is safe to do so.
More updates about our restoration efforts, including services like Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging, and Libreng WiFi Stations, will be released as soon as available. Likewise, relief efforts are being prepared to extend assistance to our kababayans. Please refer to this link for more information: www.facebook.com/GlobeBridgeCom
