Care for Environment - Globe

Building a Greener World

We collectively engage our stakeholders to contribute to environmental sustainability with the use of technology.

E-Waste Zero

The UN Environment Programme reports that more than 50 million metric tons of global e-waste is produced annually and 80% of which end up in landfills. Improper disposal of e-waste is harmful to the environment and to our health.

Globe’s E-waste Zero is a recovery and recycling program that ensures electronic devices such as old mobile phones, broken chargers, and other non-working gadgets are disposed of responsibly so these won’t end up in landfills. Since 2014, over 50 companies and organizations have joined the program, resulting in 1.2 million+ kg of e-waste recycled.

Dispose your e-waste responsibly and help reduce your impact to the environment! Drop your e-waste at designated bins located at select Globe Stores, participating malls, and other partner institutions nationwide.

You may also view the FAQs to learn more about E-Waste Zero or request for bulk hauling now.

NOTE: For areas declared under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), kindly expect 10-12 working days for us to complete your e-waste pickup requests. Increase in turnaround time is due to limited mobility during ECQ. Thank you for understanding.

Rainforestation Program

Together with Hineleban Foundation Inc., we aim to educate the public and raise awareness about the severe state of Philippine primary rainforests, which only have 1.5 percent of its forest cover remaining.

Marine Biodiversity Protection

Globe supports the protection of marine biodiversity. Last 2018, we partnered with Save Philippine Seas, an independent non-government and non-profit organization, that aims to protect the country's rich marine resources through citizen-led initiatives for collective action and behavior change.

Globe and Hineleban Foundation engaged in a 5-year partnership in 2016 for rainforestation efforts in Bukidnon and Lanao del Sur, to educate the public and raise awareness about the severe state of the Philippines' primary rainforests, which only have 1.5% of its forest cover remaining. This covers a long-term program within Mindanao’s six mountain ranges, and of the targeted 300 hectares, Globe already reforested over 120 hectares by the end of 2018.
