5 Titles We Can’t Wait to Watch on Netflix: September 2022

A star-studded comedy, a notable modern-day adaptation, plus more: get ready to add these to your watchlist!

Say hello to the first of the “ber” months and all the best of Fall entertainment that comes with it. In September, rainy day-perfect streams are taking over, as staying safe at home once again looks like the ideal scenario.

Here, Netflix has you covered. The streaming giant is bringing in some rather exciting picks under reality television such as Dated & Related and Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. As for kid-friendly titles, the entire family can look forward to Ivy + Bean, Cocomelon, and Bee and PuppyCat. Of course, there’s the option to catch up on August series and movies if you didn’t get your fill of entertainment last month. Either way, be sure to make room on your watchlist for the titles ahead.

Little Women

Starring: Kim Go-eun, Wi Ha-joon, Nam Ji-Hyun, Ji-won Uhm, Ji-hu Park, Kim Mi-Sook, Ki-joon Uhm

It looks like there’s a new South Korean mystery/drama to obsess over. Little Women, an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s 1868 novel of the same name, follows the story of three sisters who grew up under trying circumstances, where they never had enough money and could only get by. They, at least, always had each other. But the strength of their relationship is tested when they find themselves in a conspiracy involving one of Korea’s richest, most powerful families.

Stream ‘Little Women’ on Netflix when it premieres on September 3.

I Used to be Famous

Starring: Ed Skrein, Eoin Macken, Eleanor Matsuura, Lorraine Ashbourne, Leo Long, Neil Stuke

A heartwarming story about second chances, I Used to be Famous is a drama-comedy chronicling the life of a former star of a boyband after he meets a gifted but misunderstood young drummer. This is another film adapted from earlier media; this time, it’s a short film written and directed by Eddie Sternberg in 2015. Sternberg returns again for this Netflix rendition, promising a film with “a British heart.”

‘I Used to be Famous’ premieres on September 16.

Do Revenge

Starring: Maya Hawke, Sophie Turner, Austin Abrams, Camila Mendes, Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc

A stellar ensemble cast shines in this dark comedy about a former queen bee and a new student at her school as the two plot to get back at each other’s sworn enemies. It’s a modern-day spin on the plot of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic Strangers on a Train. As it all takes place in a chaotic high school setting, what could go wrong?

Stream ‘Do Revenge’ when it premieres on September 16.

Starring: Ana de Armas, Adrien Brody, Lucy DeVito, Garret Dillahunt

A project met with controversy long before its release, Blonde sees the transformation of actress Ana de Armas into the iconic Marilyn Monroe in a psychological drama. It’s a movie to take with a grain of salt given this is a fictional biographical entry not officially authorized by Monroe’s estate. Still, there’s a lot to soak in and relish here. In an interview with Netflix Queue, de Armas shared: “[Director Andrew Dominik] wanted the world to experience what it actually felt like to not only be Marilyn, but also Norma Jeane. I found that to be the most daring, unapologetic, and feminist take on her story that I had ever seen.”

Stream ‘Blonde’ only on Netflix beginning September 28.

Starring: Kid Cudi, Keith David, Timothée Chalamet, Vanessa Hudgens, Macaulay Culkin, Laura Harrier, Christopher Abbott

Rapper and actor Kid Cudi is in the driver’s seat of this highly-anticipated release. The animated series Entergalactic, which features tracks from his upcoming studio album, follows the story of Jabari, an artist trying to make it big—without getting sidetracked by the rest of life and love.

The Netflix original ‘Entergalactic’ premieres on September 30.
