Tomb Raider Fans, Get Ready: Check out These Fast Facts About the Reboot

Alicia Vikander shines as Lara Croft

It's a given Alicia Vikander has the chops to do just about any role serious justice: The past couple of years were a whirlwind of success for the 28-year-old Swedish actress, who took part in a string of highly acclaimed movies like The Light Between Oceans, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Ex Machina.

In 2015, she gave a stellar performance as Gerda in The Danish Girl winning her the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role at the 2016 Academy Awards—the first of many, for sure.

Alicia Vikander has cemented her place as a serious actress in the drama/romance genre. Up next? She sets her sights on action and adventure.

MGM and the makers of Tomb Raider are leaving Lara Croft in her hands.

Fans of the franchise are now anxiously anticipating this Tomb Raider reboot—and Lara Croft reimagined. While we all sit tight and wait, here are fast facts about the new era of Tomb Raider:

Earlier last week, the official movie poster of Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft made headlines…because of how awkward her neck looks.

Folks on Twitter called it a Photoshop “neckmare.”

This will be the second time actor Dominic West plays Alicia Vikander’s father in a movie. The first would be the 2014 film Testament of Youth.

In true douchebag fashion, jerks sounded off online that Vikander isn’t busty enough to be Lara Croft.

But really…

And we all know these jerks will end up eating their hearts out come March 2018, when the movie comes out in all major theaters.

Keep slaying, Alicia!
