What are the learning applications and blacklisted sites included in SchoolSURF and GoLearn?

The learning applications included in the content data of SchoolSurf and GoLearn are Youtube, Hangouts, Viber, WhatsApp, FBM, GSuite, Office 365, Wikipedia, Canva, Zoom and CourseHero. Canvas and other learning apps such as Blackboard, Moodle and Brightspace will be available soon. 


Blacklisted sites include TikTok, Netflix, Hulu, Hooq, Tribe, NBA, Disney, Cartoon Network, Fox+, iFlix, Twitch, iWant, Amazon Prime Video, Cinetropa, HBO Go, Viu, and Crunchyroll.

How to avail SchoolSURF, GoLearn and Educ500 prepaid promo?

For SchoolSURF, charge your load via the Globe at Home App (charged to mobile load)


1. Click Go to Dashboard.


2. Click Get More Data.


3. Choose a SchoolSURF plan and click subscribe.


4. Select a payment option and choose either:

(1) Charge to Globe/TM mobile number (Globe at Home Prepaid Number) then proceed. After proceed, click send.

(2) GCash - then subscribe now. Enter GCash number then click next. Then enter authentication code


5. You will get a text confirmation.


NOTE: SchoolSURF promos will only work with a Home Prepaid WiFi device.


For SchoolSURF:


A. Charge your load via the Globe at Home App (charged to mobile load):


1. Click Go to Dashboard.


2. Click Get More Data.


3. Choose a SchoolSURF plan and click subscribe.


4. Select a payment option and choose either:

(1) Charge to Globe/TM mobile number (Globe at Home Prepaid Number) then proceed. After proceed proceeding, click send.

(2) GCash - then subscribe now. Enter GCash number then click next. Then enter authentication code


5. You will get an a text confirmation.


NOTE: SchoolSURF promos will only work with a Home Prepaid WiFi device.


B. Via Web browser


1. Connect your device to the Home Prepaid WiFi


2. Go to your web browser and type in 192.168.254.254 in your URL


3. Type the keywords (eg. SchoolSURF599) and send to 8080


4. Wait for the successful registration message


For GoLearn and Educ500, register via your Smartphone, Tablet, or Mobile WiFi


For Smartphone and Tablet, you can simply register by sending the promo keyword to 8080


For Mobile WiFi


1. Make sure to check your mobile WiFi’s login details behind the battery (IP and Password).


2. Turn on your mobile WiFi then connect computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.


3. Open the web browser then type and enter the IP in the URL bar.


4. You will be prompted for login, for the username enter “admin” then the password.


5. Go to “SMS” tab then click “New”.


6. Input 8080 in the Recipient then the promo keyword for the message.


7. Click “Send” button then wait for the confirmation text message.

What is the difference between SchoolSURF and GoLearn/Educ500 promos?

  • SchoolSURF promos are only available for Prepaid WiFi devices. If subscribed only to a main plan, user will not have access to the following streaming sites: TikTok, Netflix, Hulu, Hooq, Tribe, NBA, Disney, Cartoon Network, Fox+, iFlix, Twitch, iWant, Amazon Prime Video, Cinetropa, HBO Go, Viu, and Crunchyroll.  Additionally, adult content will be blocked as per directive of the national government.
  • GoLearn/Educ500 promos are for mobile prepaid SIMs which can be used for mobile phones, tablets, or pocket WiFi. GoLEARN promos allow access to specific content for education use while Educ500 allows more flexibility by including an open data access allocation.

What will happen if I try to access a blacklisted site?

  • If you are registered to an open-access promo, data usage for the blacklisted sites will be deducted from the open-access data wallet.
  • If you are not registered to an open-access promo, there will be a SurfAlert via webpage for the Pay-Per-Use (PPU) browsing rate of Php5/15mins. If there is an existing load and the user proceeds with the regular browsing rate, the PPU rate will take effect.

What will happen if I try to access sites that are not part of the Content list and Blacklisted sites?

  • The data usage will be deducted from the base data of subscribed promo. If no subscription, there will be a SurfAlert via webpage for the Pay-Per-Use browsing rate of Php5/15mins. If there is an existing load and the user proceeds with the regular browsing rate, the PPU will take effect.
  • To ensure your SurfAlert service is on, text SURFALERT ON to 8080

Can I check my SchoolSURF, GoLearn and Educ500 registration details like data usage and remaining data allowance in the Globe At Home app?

  • For SchoolSURF, you can monitor usage in the Globe At Home App which will be available by August 2020.
  • For GoLearn/Educ500, you can monitor usage via GlobeOne mobile app or text DATA BAL to 8080

Can I register HomeSURF SKU together with SchoolSURF SKU? Which data allocation will be consumed first?

  • Yes, SchoolSURF and HomeSURF can co-exist. If you browse a restricted site, data will be consumed from the HomeSURF data wallet. If you browse an unrestricted site (not part of the content site), base data will be consumed first from SchoolSURF.

Can I register Go promo together with GoLearn/Educ500 promo? Which data allocation will be consumed first?

  • Yes, Go promo can work side-by-side with GoLearn/Educ500. For example, If Go promo is registered after GoLearn, visiting sites that are included as educational content will use GoLearn first. But if the site is outside the educational content then it will consume open access data from Go.

What is EnterpriseSURF150, and what is a tack-on promo?

EnterpriseSURF150 is a tack-on promo to an existing SchoolSURF main promo for an open data access wallet (no site restriction). A tack-on promo can only be registered if a main promo like SchoolSURF will be availed first.

Will I be notified if I have completely used up my data allowance?

  • There is no active notification but there will be an SMS if you already consumed 80% and 100% of your data allowance. This must be proactively checked via the device GUI.  Access modem IP on your web browser and login (IP,  username and password at the bottom of the modem), then go to Device SMS tab. For SchoolSURF promo, you can also proactively check the Globe At Home App for the remaining data allowance of the Prepaid WiFi number.
  • For GoLearn/Educ500 promos, if the SIM card is used in Smartphone or Tablet then you will receive an SMS notification when data consumption is at 80% and 100%. If the SIM card is used in a mobile WiFi then you have to access the GUI by going to your browser then entering the IP then login, go to “SMS” tab then check. For easier data monitoring, use the GlobeOne mobile app to view your data consumption.

Can I have multiple SchoolSURF, GoLearn and Educ500 main plan registrations?

  • Yes, there is no limit on the number of registrations. Multiple registrations  will stack on top of each other provided that the new subscription is performed prior to the expiration date (stacking up applies on the same promo offer). Data allocations will be added together following the longest validity.
  • Data allocation of EnterpriseSURF150 does not stack on the SchoolSURF main promo as this has a separate open-access wallet.

Can I have multiple EnterpriseSURF150 registrations?

  • Yes, there is no limit on the number of registrations. Multiple registrations will stack on top of each other. Data allocations will be added together with 30 days validity.

Is Data Rollover the same as Data Stacking?

  • Data rollover is the capability to extend the validity of your unused data allowance for another month, while Data Stacking is the capability to extend the validity of your unused data allowance based on the new validity of the new promo if the registration is performed prior to the expiration of an existing promo.
  • SchoolSurf, GoLearn and Educ500 promo have Data Stacking, not Data Rollover.

Will there be Data Stacking if I register for an EnterpriseSURF150 prior to the expiration of HomeSURF or vice-versa?

  • No, even if both SKUs have no site restrictions, they still have different open-access wallets. 

What happens after I use up my data allocation?

  • If no more active subscription and no regular load, users will not be able to browse any site.
  • If no subscription but with regular load, there  will be a SurfAlert via webpage for the Pay-Per-Use browsing rate of Php5/15mins.

Can I use SchoolSURF and EnterpriseSURF using my mobile phone or pocket WiFi?

  • SchoolSURF and EnterpriseSURF promos are exclusive to Globe Prepaid WiFi modems kitted with Globe Business Corporate SIMs. Please ensure you are using the product properly as these promos will not work with mobile phones or any other device other than the Globe Prepaid WiFi modem.

Can I use GoLearn and Educ500 using my Globe Home Prepaid WiFi device?

  • No, only Home Prepaid WiFi Promo will work for this device

Do we have an "Up to X mbps" and minimum guaranteed speed for SchoolSURF, GoLearn and Educ500?

  • SchoolSURF, GoLearn and Educ500 use the Globe LTE network, which has a theoretical maximum bandwidth  of 42 mbps. However, there is no guaranteed bandwidth  as there are a lot of factors affecting the speed such as geography, signal strength, number of concurrent users, etc.
