Our Sustainability Commitments

United Nations Global Compact

We believe that commitment to responsible business practices and respect for Human Rights are important components of our business operations, overall employee welfare, and good corporate governance.

As a signatory to the UN Global Compact, we commit to support and uphold the ten Principles on Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti-Corruption.

Human Rights

Principle 1

Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and

Principle 2

Make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

Globe respects human rights by advancing holistic development, cultivating employee engagement, and providing a safe and healthy workplace that promotes employee empowerment.

Labor

Principle 3

Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;

Principle 4

The elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor;

Principle 5

The effective abolition of child labour; and

Principle 6

The elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

Globe upholds labor standards by adhering to labor laws, promoting equal opportunities in hiring and employment, maintaining a gender balance workforce, providing inclusive and flexible benefits, and establishing various communication channels to create a purpose-driven and high-performing organization.

Environment

Principle 7

Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;

Principle 8

Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and

Principle 9

Encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

Anchored on its climate action strategy, Globe is committed to the protection and conservation of natural resources, in line with global environmental goals, Net Zero targets, circular processes, and environmental management frameworks.

Anti-Corruption

Principle 10

Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Globe adheres to local laws by upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability, transparency, and good corporate governance within its operations.

In 2016, Globe committed to support 10 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
