Globe brought 170 high school and college students closer to the world of comics and visual storytelling at Marvel U, featuring Marvel’s Editor for Asia Originals, C.B. Cebulski. The event gave aspiring creators firsthand access to the ideas and creative process behind Marvel’s stories.
Now in its second year, Marvel U follows the 2025 edition, MARVEL U: Discover Your Superpower, which gathered more than 100 students for a masterclass with Cebulski. This year’s program built on that experience with more opportunities to learn, create, and engage with the former Marvel Comics chief.
As a longstanding partner of Disney Studios, Globe continues to connect young Filipinos with global creative leaders and experiences beyond the classroom. These opportunities help students explore their interests and see where their creativity can take them.
“Filipino students have so much creativity and potential. Through Marvel U, we want to give them experiences that broaden their perspective and encourage them to keep creating and pursuing their passions,” said KD Dizon, Chief Marketing Officer of Globe Telecom.
Inside the Marvel Creative Process
Cebulski shared insights into Marvel’s creative process, from bringing comics to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while staying true to the original stories, to the people and ideas behind its characters. Drawing from his time as Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief, he encouraged young artists to develop their imagination and own style to help their work stand out.
“Great stories can come from anywhere. I hope Marvel U encourages young Filipino creators to trust their ideas, develop their own voice, and keep working on their craft,” said Cebulski.
Students also put their creativity to the test through a live 5G Speed Drawing activity, giving them an opportunity to apply what they learned during the session. A meet-and-greet with Cebulski gave participants another chance to interact with the Marvel editor and talk about their shared passion for comics and storytelling.
For Thea, a student at University of Santo Tomas - Manila, Marvel U 2.0 offered fresh motivation to pursue a creative path. “This event has inspired me to become a better artist, especially after hearing Mr. Cebulski share his past work with other legendary Marvel artists and their contributions over the years. Experiences like this remind us of the impact of storytelling,” she said.
