Globe has been awarded the prestigious Broadband Digital Inclusion Excellence Award at the World Broadband Association (WBBA) Broadband Excellence Awards 2025 for its initiative, “No Filipino Left Offline: Connecting the Underserved.” This recognition affirms Globe At Home’s commitment to delivering purposeful connectivity and creating digital pathways for underserved communities across the Philippines.

The award-winning initiative reflects Globe’s multi-dimensional approach to inclusion, combining resilient infrastructure, frictionless access to internet AT HOME, and community-rooted solutions to ensure that Filipinos have the opportunity to thrive in the digital age. In a country that faces around 20 tropical cyclones annually, Globe’s emergency free mobile data support during typhoons has become a vital lifeline, keeping families and communities connected while restoration efforts are underway. This rapid relief model exemplifies Globe’s dedication to service that adapts to the realities of Filipino life.

“We’re deeply honored by this global recognition, it’s a powerful affirmation of our mission to leave no Filipino offline,” says Carl Cruz, President and CEO at Globe. “Digital inclusion has become a right, and Globe is building a future where every Filipino, from bustling cities to the most remote barangays, can thrive through sustainable, high-speed connectivity. We’re not just connecting lives today, we’re laying the foundation for a more inclusive, empowered nation.”

At the heart of the initiative is GFiber Prepaid, a contract-free, pay-as-you-go fiber offering designed for first-time adopters. With a fully digital journey, from serviceability check to installation, managed via the GlobeOne app and official site, GFiber Prepaid lowers barriers to entry and empowers budget-conscious households with high-speed internet. Entry offers like 7-day access for just ₱199 at speeds up to 50 Mbps make connectivity more attainable than ever.

The impact is measurable. GFiber Prepaid emerged as the fastest-growing prepaid fiber brand in the country, with subscriber growth surging quarter on quarter. A high Net Promoter Score and relatively high reload rates among other prepaid products, reflect strong customer satisfaction and loyalty. Globe’s strategy also includes leveraging sari-sari stores as digital on-ramps, supporting practical onboarding for prepaid fiber users. Packworks reported a 32% rise in transactions among sari‑sari store owners in 2024, as they continue to anchor neighborhood commerce. These community hubs are proving vital in expanding digital access and enabling budget control for everyday households.

“Our commitment is clear: to ensure ‘No Filipino Left Offline.’ This initiative is not just about connecting fiber; it’s about connecting lives to opportunity, education, and the global digital economy,” said Abigail Cardino, Head of Brand Management, Broadband Business at Globe. “Digital Inclusion is the foundation for building a genuinely fair and equal future for the Philippines.”

This global recognition is more than an accolade, it’s a testament to Globe’s enduring mission to uplift Filipino lives with the tools, access, and resilience to thrive in a connected world. Through Community Empowerment, Digital Inclusion, and Opportunity Enablement, Globe continues to help build a future where we can #GoForwardTogether.
