Globe Extends Media Awards Submission of Entries to Sept. 15

September 10, 2024
Body Text

Globe has extended to September 15, 2024, the deadline for submission of entries to the 11th Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA), giving media practitioners and content creators more time to share their outstanding contributions to journalism and digital storytelling.

Journalists from across the country are encouraged to submit their work, as GMEA has expanded its reach to Luzon. In this year’s GMEA, traditional news categories have also been modified to reflect digital integration and new special awards focusing on digitization, as Globe aims to recognize a wider expanse of journalistic work.

“We’ve received a lot of interest from journalists from across the country with the bigger and wider-reaching GMEA awards this year. By giving them more time, we’re ensuring that every gem of a story gets the chance to be recognized,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at Globe.

GMEA’s theme this year, ‘#IgnitingProgress,’ will recognize inspiring and impactful narratives that support Globe’s mission of digital enablement and sustainability. Submissions are now being accepted from journalists and content creators across Luzon provinces, Visayas and Mindanao.

Eligible entries must have been published between June 2023 and August 2024.

GMEA@11 offers a comprehensive set of categories to celebrate excellence in media, including three main divisions: Integrated Media, Digital Storytelling, and Special Awards.

Stories will be evaluated based on content, style, impact, and integration of new media technologies. Each category will feature three winners: first and second-place winners will receive a cash prize and a trophy, while the third-place winner will be awarded a certificate.

GMEA@11 aligns with Globe’s sustainability pillars: Digital Nation, Care for People, and Care for Environment. These principles ensure that all entries not only highlight journalistic and creative achievements but also contribute to the broader goals of societal progress.

For more details or to submit entries, visit the official GMEA@11 website and complete the registration via Google Forms. For inquiries, email [email protected].
