Globe's Marisalve Ciocson-Co is in Legal 500 GC Powerlist Southeast Asia
A leap for women in leadership
Globe’s Chief Compliance Officer Marisalve Ciocson-Co has been included in the Legal 500’s GC Powerlist Southeast Asia, a prestigious listing of the world’s best corporate lawyers.
This honor is a testament to Ciocson-Co’s unwavering commitment to Globe's corporate governance, compliance initiatives, and the development of innovative legal structures that propel business growth.
"The inclusion of Marive in this distinguished list reflects not just her legal acumen, but also her strategic thinking, agility, and dedication to Globe. Her initiatives have nurtured a collaborative atmosphere that bolsters the organization's capacity and motivation to flourish,” said Atty. Froilan Castelo, Globe General Counsel.
“I am honored to be included in the list of Legal 500 for Southeast Asia. This serves as an inspiration for me to continue raising the flag of women in leadership roles, particularly in the legal profession,” said Ciocson-Co.
Through its GC Powerlist series, globally respected publication Legal 500 acknowledges in-house lawyers who have made big changes in their companies or industries, created smart solutions to tough problems, and built new ways to ensure that the legal department is helping drive the business. They also set a good example for other corporate lawyers to follow.
For the Southeast Asia installment, the GC Powerlist spans nine countries: Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Myanmar. It is the result of a rigorous three-month-long evaluation process involving nominations, background research, and interviews.
Ciocson-Co’s distinction reaffirms Globe's campaign for women in leadership roles, acknowledging them as drivers of positive change and development. As a powerful female leader, she has emerged as an advocate for gender equity, diversity, and inclusion.
"We are proud to celebrate this achievement, which significantly aligns with our vision for women in leadership. Marive's inclusion in the Powerlist underscores our belief in the crucial role women play in decision-making positions, particularly in her role in mergers and acquisitions alongside compliance and corporate governance," said Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO.
