Globe Registers 54 Million SIM Users, Remains the Undisputed Mobile Leader in PH
Globe is the undisputed Mobile leader in the Philippines, edging out competitors in its user count as it logged nearly 54 million registered SIMs as of July 30, the end of the five-day grace period following seven months of registration.
Based on data released by the National Telecommunications Commission, Globe has logged 53,727,798 registered SIMs as of 11:59 p.m. on July 30, over 1.2 million higher than the nearest competition.
Globe earlier logged a last-minute surge in SIM registrations as the deadline lapsed on July 25 and the grace period for reactivation started on July 26, recording nearly 4 million more registered and reactivated SIMs during the 5-day grace period. A survey found that many registered at the last minute as they were afraid to be victimized by identity theft, while the others were extremely busy with other pressing matters.
"After seven months of our nationwide registration, which brought us to the remote parts of the country, Globe was able to reach the most number of customers successfully. With close to 54 million subscribers registered, we retained our position as the country’s Mobile leader,” said Darius Delgado, Head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business.
“We thank our customers for taking part in this historic undertaking as we work together to beat spam, scam, and other forms of online fraud,” he said.
Throughout the registration process, Globe rolled out several modes of registration for the convenience of its customers: its online portal new.globe.com.ph/simreg, the GlobeOne app, GCash, and the bulk registration portal for enterprise customers.
To reach as many customers as it could, Globe also deployed 1,572 SIM Registration Assistance Desks to help the elderly, PWDs, and those without internet access or who are using basic or feature phones. Globe Stores and EasyHubs nationwide were also open for walk-in customers who may need help to register their SIMs.
With the lapse of the deadline and grace period, all unregistered SIMs have been permanently deactivated. Globe said those who missed the deadline may buy new SIMs and register for activation so they can access connectivity services.

Globe Sees Last-Minute Surge in SIM Registrations, Cites Customer Support and Communications Campaign
July 31, 2023
Globe reported a last-day surge in SIM registrations to the NTC as the deadline lapsed and the grace period for reactivation began. The leading mobile network attributed this welcome stream of last-minute registrants to its vigorous communications campaign and the support of its customers, government regulators, and private sector partnerships.
On July 25, the last day of SIM registrations, Globe saw a total of 3.344 million SIM registrations, with customers rushing to beat the deadline. The following day, July 26, when deactivations began, a total of 452,997 customers caught up to reactivate their mobile services, while 126,344 more complied on July 27.
As of July 27, Globe has logged over 52.302 million SIM registrations, covering Globe Prepaid, Globe Postpaid, Globe Platinum, TM, Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi, and Globe Business SIMs.
A Globe survey weeks before the deadline showed that many SIM users knew that they needed to register their SIMs, but didn’t have the time to register earlier, as they were too busy. This validates the last-minute surge in registrations.
“We were surprised yet happy with the turnout over the seven-month period of SIM registration, as we have been able to cover nearly all our active users. We thank our customers for heeding our call for SIM registration via various communications channels—from print, radio, TV, and digital platforms—and our on-ground activations to reach the elderly, PWDs, pregnant women, basic and feature phone users, and those in remote areas,” said Ernest Cu, Globe Group President and CEO.
To register its millions of customers, Globe opened various platforms for convenient SIM registration, including its own online portal, the GlobeOne app, GCash, and bulk registration portal for enterprise customers.
It also deployed 1,572 SIM Registration Assistance Desks, including those held in support of government efforts and on its own initiative. Globe also opened Globe Stores and EasyHubs nationwide for walk-in customers who may need help to register their SIMs.
“What pulled us through in this huge undertaking was the cooperation among Globe, our government partners, and our customers. We hope that our SIM users will continue to comply with the SIM Registration Act and register new SIMs so that they can enjoy our mobile services. After all, this is for everyone’s protection against fraud and other forms of cybercrime,” Cu added.
The grace period for reactivation of unregistered SIMs is until July 30. Globe urges still unregistered SIM users to catch up and comply with the law, as all unregistered SIMs will be permanently deactivated by July 31. Meanwhile, all new SIMs must be registered before mobile and broadband services can be accessed.
Number Mo, Identity Mo: Globe Spotlights Online Safety in Creative Call for SIM Registration
As the July 25 deadline nears, Globe has launched a creative campaign that emphasizes the need for consumers to comply with the SIM Registration Act to protect themselves from the dangers that lurk online.
In the “Number Mo, Identity Mo” campaign, the online identities of popular celebrities Kuya Kim Atienza and Kiray Celis were humorously "hacked" by talented stand-up comedians and improv artists impersonating them.
"Online safety is a pressing issue in today's digital age. Through this unique initiative, we hope to drive home the point that our SIMs are a crucial part of our digital identity and must be protected. We also want to remind our prepaid customers that they need to register their SIMs by the July 25 deadline. We urge all Globe customers to register their SIMs now,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer, Globe Group.
To avoid becoming a victim of fraud, Globe reiterates its call for customers to register their SIMs. Globe Prepaid, TM, and Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi customers may register via the GlobeOne app and Globe’s SIM registration page 24/7.
Fully-verified GCash account holders may also utilize the GCash app. Those in need of assistance may also get help to register their SIMs in any Globe Store and EasyHub nationwide.
Globe Postpaid, Globe Business Postpaid, and Globe Platinum subscribers have already been included in the SIM registration database. For company-owned Globe Business prepaid accounts, steps to register or update details have been sent to authorized company representatives.
Celebrity Accounts ‘Hacked’
The imaginative take on promoting online safety started with strange teaser posts on all of Kiray and Kuya Kim's active social media accounts, culminating in a TikTok LIVE session, where the impersonators peddled entertainingly obvious scams to viewers, effectively spotlighting potential dangers lurking online.

Kiray's impostor took her followers on a journey of transformation, promising a high-end, luxe, and more beautiful version of the beloved comedienne, ending in a live selling event and a dramatic "face reveal." Simultaneously, Kuya Kim's impersonator alluded to recent developments about a television show, promising juicy behind-the-scenes secrets, lifestyle tips, and a surprise guest, all to spark interest and intrigue.
But the real intent behind these entertaining acts was revealed two days after the livestream, as Kuya Kim and Kiray uploaded a video saying their accounts had been 'hacked.' This unexpected twist underscored their important message: online identity theft is real, and everyone should take measures to protect themselves, including registering their SIMs.
With this campaign, Globe underscores its dedication to promoting online safety. Since December 2022, the company has carried out various SIM registration drives. This latest effort adds a creative twist, amplifying the message that “your SIM is more than a number—it's an extension of your identity.” Through SIM registration, customers take a critical step in protecting their digital identity against potential scams.
The “Number Mo, Identity Mo” campaign reminds everyone that the battle against online scams is not a solitary fight but a collective effort.
Globe Simplifies SIM Registration for Fully Verified GCash Users
Globe has made it easier and more convenient for fully verified GCash users to register their SIMs before the July 25 deadline.
With a simple text, Globe subscribers who are also GCash users can quickly register their SIMs in compliance with Republic Act (RA) 11934 or the SIM Registration Act. Those who complete registration will also get 1 GB of free data.
"We've always believed in the power of technology to streamline processes and enhance customer experience. By providing a quick and simple way for our users to register their SIMs, we're bolstering consumer security and ensuring that their connectivity services will remain uninterrupted," said Ernest Cu, Globe Group President and CEO.
Under this new registration protocol, selected Globe subscribers will receive a notification inviting them to register their SIMs by texting "GCASH," followed by their birthday in "mmddyy" format, to 8080. For example, a user born on May 22, 1983, shall text "GCASH 052283." This mode of registration will be operational until July 19, 2023.
By opting to register via this route, subscribers can request GCash to send their account details to Globe. They also certify that all details earlier submitted to GCash, including their full name, birthday, sex, address, and IDs, are accurate. This showcases how Globe and GCash are working together to empower their customers and give them the ability to conveniently exercise their right to data portability under the Data Privacy Act.
Once Globe receives and validates the information provided, customers will receive an acknowledgment text message within a few days.
The text method is the second mode of SIM registration via GCash. Earlier, Globe and GCash rolled out a registration protocol where GCash users can register their SIMs via the app. There, fully-verified users will encounter a prompt to facilitate their SIM registration. They will also receive free 1 GB data upon completion.
SIM registration is mandated by the Philippine government under Republic Act 11934, enacted in December 2022, to combat the proliferation of cybercrime, including scams and other forms of fraud. By registering their SIMs, mobile phone users can protect themselves against cybercrime and help ensure that their SIMs are not used for illegal activities.
With the deadline for SIM registration fast approaching, Globe is encouraging its fully verified GCash users to take advantage of the easy registration process available through text message and the GCash app. Non-compliance may lead to SIM deactivation and potential disruption of mobile services.
Globe has several platforms available for SIM registration. Globe customers, including GCash users with unverified GCash accounts, may use the GlobeOne app or the Globe microsite at new.globe.com.ph/simreg to register their SIMs. In-person assistance remains available at Globe Stores and EasyHubs across the nation.
June 2023 Updates
30 Days To Go: As Deadline Looms, Globe Urges Customers to Register Their SIMs
June 26, 2023
Globe has renewed its call for still unregistered customers to comply with the SIM Registration Act, with the July 25 extended deadline just a month away.
SIM registration, which is mandated by Republic Act (RA) 11934 or the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Registration Law, is critical in maintaining the quality, integrity, and security of network services.
Registered subscribers will not only enjoy continued access to mobile and data services but also benefit from enhanced cybersecurity measures, reducing the likelihood of being targeted by cybercrime, particularly fraud.
Customers who fail to register their SIMs within the deadline will forfeit their existing load and promo registrations by July 31. Their SIMs will also be deactivated, which will impact day-to-day activities such as online payments, transport booking and deliveries, and access to mobile data for learning, earning, and leisure, among others.
Globe Group President and CEO Ernest Cu emphasized the urgency of the registration.
"We strongly encourage all our subscribers who have yet to register their SIMs to do so before the July 25 deadline. Government has already given ample extension from the original deadline. We hope they finally comply,” Cu said.
“We reiterate that registering your SIMs will provide an added layer of protection against text scams and other forms of fraud. Registering your SIMs will be for your own benefit, and we’ve made it convenient to complete this step whether online or on site,” said Cu.
As of June 25, 53.85% of the total Globe mobile customer base, which includes active and inactive users, have registered.
To register, Globe Prepaid, TM, and Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi customers may use the GlobeOne app and Globe’s SIM registration microsite new.globe.com.ph/simreg, which are available 24/7.
Those who have fully verified GCash accounts may also register via the GCash app. Just follow the instructions after receiving a prompt to register their SIMs, and they will get 1GB of free data upon successful registration.
Globe Postpaid and Platinum subscribers, meanwhile, have already been included in the SIM registration database.
For company-owned Globe Business prepaid accounts, steps to register or update details have been sent to your company's authorized representative. Globe Business postpaid accounts have also been included in the SIM registration database.
For subscribers who require in-person assistance, Globe has set up registration help desks in all Globe Stores and EasyHubs nationwide. Trained staff are readily available to guide customers through the process and answer any queries.
Globe has been proactive in spreading awareness and providing education about the benefits of SIM registration. Various campaigns and customer outreach initiatives are in place to encourage subscribers to meet the deadline.
"Globe is committed to providing the best experience for all subscribers. As the deadline approaches, we want to ensure that everyone continues to enjoy our services without interruption. Together, let’s make our digital world safer and more reliable,” said Cu.
Globe Warns vs. Phishing Attempts Targeting Customers with Fake SIM Registration Email
June 9, 2023
Leading digital solutions platform Globe cautions its customers about a new scam that circulates a phishing email designed to steal sensitive information.
The email mimics Globe's official communication on SIM Registration, supposedly to assist subscribers. The scam’s hook is a warning that the customers’ SIM registration was “unsuccessful.” It further instructs customers to “Please click (link) to register again. Reprocess your registration after three days to avoid total deactivation of your SIM."
"We've become aware of such deceptive communications, and we strongly advise our customers to ignore and block these messages, which are a malicious misuse of the new SIM Registration Act," said Globe's Chief Information Security Officer Anton Bonifacio.
Republic Act 11934, or the SIM Registration Act, seeks to address fraud and other forms of cybercrime and aims to foster responsibility for SIM use. The law requires current users to register their SIMs by the extended deadline on July 25, 2023, to prevent deactivation, while all new SIM users will be required to register before their SIMs can be activated.
Globe fully supports the law and has established robust systems to simplify registration. It alerts customers to register their SIMs exclusively through the GlobeOne app, the Globe SIM registration microsite at new.globe.com.ph/simreg, or through the GCash app for those with fully verified GCash accounts. Globe customers can also seek registration assistance at Globe Stores and EasyHubs.
Bonifacio called on customers to register their SIMs only via Globe’s official SIM registration platforms.
"These are our only accredited channels for SIM registration. If you receive any message related to SIM registration, always verify its origin and refrain from clicking any suspicious links,” Bonifacio stressed.
Globe also encourages its customers to report suspicious messages or activities via its Stop Spam portal.
As a responsible digital solutions platform, Globe is dedicated to shielding its customers from such scams and encourages everyone to stay vigilant. Globe is again calling on still unregistered customers to comply with the law. As of June 7, Globe has logged over 45.252 million SIM registrations, or nearly 94.92 percent of its active subscriber base.
To register, Globe Prepaid, TM, and Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi customers may use the GlobeOne app and Globe’s SIM registration microsite, which are available 24/7.
Those who have fully verified GCash accounts may also register via the GCash app. Just follow the instructions after receiving a prompt to register their SIMs. Those who use the app to register will get 1 GB of free data.
Globe Postpaid and Platinum subscribers, meanwhile, are already included in the SIM registration database.
For company-owned Globe Business prepaid accounts, steps to register or update details have been sent to your company's authorized representative. Globe Business postpaid accounts have also been included in the SIM registration database.
May 2023 Updates
Globe Focuses Efforts in VisMin Areas with Low SIM Registration Numbers, Calls for Gov’t Support in Underserved Communities
May 19, 2023
Leading digital solutions platform Globe is directing its efforts to areas in Visayas and Mindanao where SIM registration rates are low, as it continues to urge customers across the country to register their SIMs before the July deadline.
Darius Delgado, Head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business, said the company already actively partners with a number of LGUs to deploy and expand assisted registration sites.
“We have seen the lowest number of SIM registrations in Visayas and Mindanao, especially in rural areas. Our efforts to educate and encourage people to register are ongoing, and we are working with LGUs to make the process more accessible for those who need assistance,” he said.
Globe also called on the government to support telcos to increase the number of registered users in underserved communities.
“We need government support to roll out infrastructure that can be leased by telcos in missionary areas such as the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Marawi, and other regions where telcos have a weak presence. Local government units are also critical in pushing for the registration of their constituents,” Globe’s General Counsel Froilan Castelo said.
Castelo said LGUs may provide access to SIM registration venues, on-site registration assistance, and training for local agents who can help facilitate the process. They can also expedite the provisioning of IDs for those who do not have government IDs, a vital requirement for registration.
Castelo added that complementing Globe’s information campaign through LGU support and assistance may significantly increase the number of registered users within the timeframe.
“Ultimately, the private sector and the government can collaborate to fast-track SIM registration in underserved communities,” he concluded.
Globe remains committed to providing Filipinos with reliable and accessible telecom services and ensuring that customers can enjoy the full benefits of their mobile phones. With support from the LGUs and the national government, Globe is confident that more people in Visayas and Mindanao will be able to comply with the government mandate.
To register, Globe Prepaid, TM, and Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi customers may use the GlobeOne app and Globe’s SIM registration microsite new.globe.com.ph/simreg, which are available 24/7.
Those who have a fully verified GCash account may also register via the GCash app in just a few clicks. They just have to follow instructions after receiving a prompt to register their SIMs. Those who use the app to register will get 1GB of free data.
Postpaid and Platinum subscribers are already included in the SIM registration database.
Globe’s 144 Stores and 27 EasyHubs across the country are also open to help customers who need help. The company has also rolled out over 1,000 SIM registration assistance booths since registration started.
Globe Logs 85% Registration Among Active SIM Users, Confident of Reaching 100% by Deadline
Leading digital solutions platform Globe has announced significant progress in its SIM registration efforts. The company has successfully registered around 85% of its active users and is confident that it can cover the rest of its revenue-generating customer base well within the 90-day extension period.
Since the deadline was extended, there has been a slowdown in SIM registration volume, which is consistent across all players in the market. Despite this, Globe remains unfazed.
“We intend to have 100% of our revenue-generating base fully registered within the 90-day extension. We are confident that we can achieve this with the initiatives that we are taking,” said Darius Delgado, Head of Globe Consumer Mobile Business.
The company has implemented various steps to make registration as easy and accessible as possible, including opening up GCash as a channel for fully verified Globe and TM users to register their SIMs with just a few clicks. This is on top of the GlobeOne app and the new.globe.com.ph/simreg microsite, which are also available 24/7.
Additionally, Globe continues to operate its SIM-assisted registration booths and plans to scale up these efforts, particularly in rural areas where registration has lagged behind. The company's 144 Stores and 25 EasyHubs across the country are also open to customers who need help registering their SIMs.
Globe is committed to ensuring its customers’ compliance with the SIM Registration Act and is working closely with local government units, groceries, and malls to set up assisted registration booths in various remote locations. It has also been regularly joining SIM registration assistance initiatives led by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) since January.
Globe continues to appeal to the government to allow the submission of alternative IDs for SIM registration as many Filipinos still lack government IDs.
"We applaud the government for extending the SIM registration deadline, as this gives millions of our unregistered customers more time to comply with the law. But we continue to ask for conditional registration that will allow us to accept other forms of identification, such as school IDs and company IDs. This will help our customers who do not yet have a government ID to register across our channels," Delgado said.
Unregistered SIM users have until July 25 to complete their SIM registration. Globe urges its subscribers to quickly take advantage of the extended time and not wait until the last minute to register to avoid the deactivation of their SIMs.
Globe Calls on Customers to Register Their SIMs for Protection vs. Scams, Crime
May 10, 2023
Globe has renewed its call on customers to register their SIMs and avoid waiting for the last minute to register after the government extended the deadline to comply with the SIM Registration Act by 90 days.
SIM registration is an important step towards protecting one’s account and information. A registered SIM can be blocked in case of loss or theft. It also blocks customers from spam and scam texts. Through SIM registration, criminals won't be able to easily access personal information in apps and accounts.
Registered customers will also get to continue enjoying mobile services and apps for financial transactions and booking deliveries and ride-hailing services, among others. They will also get timely messages from government agencies, including emergency alerts.
“We would like to again call on our customers to please schedule their registration early. Please take advantage of the extension to complete your registration and comply with the law,” said Darius Delgado, Head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business.
“We urge you to please do this early and not wait for the new deadline so that you can get yourselves protected. We have made registration fast and easy, and we provide on-site support for those who need help,” he said.
The government has extended the registration deadline from April 26, 2023 to July 25, 2023. As of May 7, a total of 43.65 million have registered out of the total base of 84.2 million.
For Globe Prepaid, TM, and Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi users, use the GlobeOne app or go to new.globe.com.ph/simreg to register.
Globe Prepaid and TM users who have a fully-verified GCash account may also register via the GCash app in just a few clicks! They just need to follow instructions after they receive a prompt to register their SIMs, and they will get 1 GB of free data.
Postpaid and Platinum subscribers are already included in the SIM registration database.
Globe’s 144 Stores and 27 EasyHubs across the country are also open to help customers who need help. The company has also rolled out over 1,000 SIM registration assistance booths since registration started.

For a fast and hassle-free registration process, customers are advised to have their relevant information readily available. This includes their full name, date of birth, sex, address, government-issued ID with photo, and mobile number.
"Our utmost priority is to provide our clients with uninterrupted connectivity. We understand that the SIM registration process can be arduous for some, which is why we continue to streamline the process and ensure a hassle-free experience for everyone. With only a month left before the registration deadline, we strongly encourage our customers to take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy seamless mobile and broadband services," said Cleo Santos, Globe Channel Management Group Head.
Aside from participating in the NTC-led SIM registration program, Globe earlier launched its own on-ground and online initiatives to assist its customers. Globe, TM, and Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi may register anytime and anywhere through new.globe.com.ph/simreg or the GlobeOne app.
Postpaid and Platinum subscribers, meanwhile, may confirm their details to Globe by sending SIMREG to 8080 or update their details via new.globe.com.ph/simreg.

The company strives to ensure that every customer receives the necessary help to complete the registration process smoothly.
The SIM Registration Act mandates the registration of all SIMs as part of government efforts to combat fraud and scams, which have seen an increase during the pandemic, increasing incidence of criminal activities that exploit unregistered SIMs. This important measure ensures that every mobile number is linked with a verified user, making it easier to track down and hold accountable those who use mobile devices to engage in unlawful activities.
With only a limited time left before the registration deadline, it is crucial to register your SIM now. For more information on the SIM registration process and how to register, please visit https://www.globe.com.ph/help/sim-registration-act.
April 2023 Updates
Globe Welcomes SIM Registration 90-Day Extension, Daily Registrations Hit Over 2M
April 25, 2023
Globe applauds the government led by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for extending the SIM registration deadline, giving millions of unregistered customers more time to comply with the law.
SIM users now have 90 days more to register after the original April 26 deadline was extended. Globe again calls on its subscribers to quickly take advantage of the extended time and not wait for the last minute to register to avoid deactivation of their SIMs.
“The government has given SIM users a full three months more to register their SIMs. We would like to appeal to our customers to register their SIMs as soon as they can. If you are having a hard time registering your SIMs, you can go to our Globe Stores and EasyHubs and we will provide the necessary assistance,” said Darius Delgado, Head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business.
Globe has been vigorously pushing for SIM registration have been slow, peaking to millions of daily registrations just over the past three days after Globe sent emergency alerts before the extension was announced.
As of April 24, 39.89 million Globe customers have registered their SIMs out of the total 86.7 million subscriber base.
Globe’s 147 stores and 25 EasyHubs across the country are open for customers who need help registering their SIMs. Globe has also been regularly joining SIM Registration Assistance initiatives led by the National Telecommunications Commission since January, and works with local government units, groceries, and malls to set up assisted registration booths in various sites, including remote locations.
Globe Prepaid, TM, and Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi users may register their SIMs through the new.globe.com.ph/simreg website. Globe Postpaid and Platinum customer details are already added to the Globe SIM registration database in accordance with the law. For company-owned Globe Business accounts, steps to register or update details have been sent to your company's authorized representative.
SIM Registration Now Available via GCash App, Deadline to Register is Extended For 90 Days
April 25, 2023
As the government extends the deadline for SIM registration, Globe and TM subscribers may now register their SIMs on the GCash app.
Globe and TM customers who are GCash users will receive a prompt to register their SIMs and they just need to follow the instructions. Once successful they will get free 1GB of data which they can use right away.
By registering their SIMs, customers will avoid SIM deactivation and have uninterrupted access to their e-wallet accounts.
Customers who fail to register their SIMs that are linked to their accounts can still access their funds by requesting a transfer to a new registered mobile number from the GCash Help Center. The process, however, will take several days.
“That’s why we encourage SIM users with GCash wallets to register their SIMs before the deadline to avoid this inconvenience. We remind our customers to register their SIMs only with the GCash app or through the official portals of their respective telco providers,” said GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon.
GCash will NEVER ask its customers to share their OTP, MPIN, or other sensitive information. SIM registration is mandated by the Philippine government under Republic Act 11934 or the SIM Registration Act. The law was enacted to combat online fraud and other forms of cybercrime.
Globe Hits Over a Million Registrations Per Day as Deadline Nears
April 24, 2023
Lack of connectivity an emergency itself
As the deadline for SIM Registration draws near, Globe opted to use the Emergency Cell Broadcast (ECB) system to urgently alert subscribers who have yet to comply with the SIM Registration Act.
Globe took this step as registrations had been slow at roughly 200,000 per day in March. Globe started using ECB to call on customers who have not registered due to the tepid daily registration numbers. The impact of ECBs has been tremendous as daily registrations increased to 400K then 800K last week. Over the weekend, the daily registrations hit over 1 million.
“We are looking after our customers as we do not want their SIMs deactivated. If they do not register by April 26, customers stand to lose their mobile services, now considered a lifeline especially post pandemic,” said Globe Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer Yoly Crisanto.
"We apologize to our registered customers who have received the emergency alerts and expressed their irritation online. These messages were really intended for those who have not registered. We appeal for their understanding as these messages are geographically targeted for all. Globe sees the low registration numbers as needing urgent public service because the lack of mobile services is in itself an emergency, severely impacting daily life, from financial transactions and e-commerce to transport and education, among many others,” added Crisanto.
The deadline for SIM registration is on Wednesday, April 26, and telcos have appealed for an extension. The SIM Registration Act's Implementing Rules and Regulations allow an extension of up to 120 days.
As of April 22, Globe has logged just over 35.8 million SIM registrations out of its 86.7 million customer base. This, even as it exerted various efforts to get its customers registered, opening 147 Stores and 25 EasyHubs as on-site assistance centers.
The company also partnered with local government units, groceries, and malls to set up assisted registration booths in more than 100 sites nationwide. To reach subscribers in remote areas, Globe has regularly joined SIM Registration Caravans led by the National Telecommunications Commission since January.
Its SIM registration platforms also remain open 24/7. For users of Globe and TM Prepaid SIMs and Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi, SIM registration is free and can be done anytime and anywhere through the new.globe.com.ph/simreg website and the GlobeOne app.
Postpaid subscribers may complete their registration by sending SIMREG to 8080 to confirm their details. For company-owned Globe Business accounts, registration steps have been sent to your company's authorized representative.
Globe Urges Customers to Register SIMs as April 26 Deadline Looms
April 20, 2023
As the April 26 deadline for SIM registration rapidly draws near, leading digital solutions platform Globe strongly urged its subscribers to complete the registration process immediately, with 33.067 million of its 86.5 million customer base compliant with the law as of April 20.
"We encourage all our subscribers to register their SIMs as soon as possible to maintain uninterrupted access to mobile and broadband services. Pending response to our appeal for the government to extend the deadline, we call on all Globe SIM users to comply with the law," said Globe Group President and CEO Ernest Cu.
Globe also reiterated its call for the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to extend the deadline so customers can obtain valid IDs– a key requirement for SIM registration that many SIM users lack, preventing them from completing registration.
Globe also requested the government to allow the use of alternative forms of identification for SIM registration, citing that many citizens may not possess official government papers.
SIMs that remain unregistered by the deadline will be deactivated, preventing customers from using Globe’s call, text and data services. This could severely impact customers who rely on their mobile numbers for authentication in various sensitive transactions, especially banking, and other financial services, and who use mobile phones for day-to-day needs.
Globe Prepaid, TM, and Globe At Home customers can register their SIMs for free via new.globe.com.ph/simreg or through the GlobeOne app. Customers are requested to be ready with the necessary information such as Full Name, Date of Birth, Sex, Address, Government ID with Photo, and Mobile Number.
Globe Postpaid and Platinum customers, meanwhile, may confirm their details by texting SIMREG to 8080.
Globe Business authorized representatives may use the enterprise SIM registration portal to register their SIMs. They may contact their Account Manager for more information.
To facilitate the registration process for as many subscribers as possible, Globe has transformed 147 Stores and 25 EasyHubs into dedicated assistance centers. Additionally, it has collaborated with local government units (LGUs), grocery stores, and malls to set up assisted registration booths at more than 100 locations across the Philippines.
Likewise, Globe has consistently taken part in the government-led SIM Registration caravans to cater to subscribers in remote areas.
Globe Offers 2x Rewards as Incentives to SIM Registrants
April 18, 2023
Want to double your Globe Rewards? Just register your prepaid SIM via the GlobeOne App!
Globe is offering incentives to Globe customers who register their SIMs with just a week left before the April 26 deadline, and all customers who have registered earlier. Through the 2x Rewards Campaign, Prepaid subscribers with P90 and above promo/load transactions and TM customers with P50 and above transactions will get twice the Rewards when they register via the GlobeOne app.
Globe Rewards is the company’s way of granting special treats to its subscribers for their loyal use of Globe or TM products and services. Customers can earn points from Prepaid reloads, monthly Postpaid usage, Globe At Home broadband plans, and Prepaid WiFi. These can be exchanged for data promos and digital vouchers or used as payment at partner stores or donations to their preferred charitable institutions.
The 2X Rewards promo aims to encourage new and existing Globe and TM prepaid subscribers to comply with Republic Act No. 11934 or the SIM Registration Act, which aims to curb fraud and other forms of cybercrime by establishing a registry of SIM users.
"We urge our subscribers to take advantage of the 2X Rewards promo and register their SIMs before the April 26 deadline to avoid inconvenience. We recognize the significance of the SIM Registration Act in preventing scams and other forms of online criminal activity, and we are committed to helping our customers comply. Let's work together to make our online community safer and more secure," said Jerome Patalud, head of Globe Rewards.
SIMs may be registered for free anytime and anywhere via new.globe.com.ph/simreg and the GlobeOne app. Failure to do so within the specified period will lead to SIM deactivation.
Globe continues to ramp up efforts to register its subscribers nationwide. It provides SIM Registration Assistance in Globe Stores and EasyHubs nationwide. It also deploys booths in remote areas to help those having a hard time registering their SIMs, especially seniors, PWDs, pregnant women, those with no internet access, or who are using basic phones.
It has also partnered with local government units (LGUs), groceries, and malls in putting up assisted registration booths in more than 100 sites nationwide.
Globe has logged over 31 million SIM registrations as of April 17 out of its 86.7 million subscriber base.
Globe Deploys 180 Assistance Desks in Priority Areas to Help Basic Phone Users
April 11, 2023

Leading digital solutions platform Globe has been deploying 180 assistance desks in 72 provinces with the highest concentration of users of basic phones, or phones limited to call and text capability.
The move is on top of the assisted SIM registration booths the company has put up in more than 100 sites in partnership with various local government units and partner groceries and malls.
Since January, Globe has also participated in several runs of the NTC-led SIM registration caravans. It has been supporting more than 500 NTC-mandated assisted SIM registration booths that will run in up to four remote areas per region every week until the April 26, 2023 deadline.
Aside from on-ground activities, the company urged customers to take advantage of the GlobeOne app and its dedicated SIM registration website, new.globe.com.ph/simreg, to register their SIMs easily for free. Postpaid customers, meanwhile, simply have to text SIMREG to 8080 to confirm that their details, previously submitted to Globe, are updated.
"We are committed to making the SIM registration process as seamless and convenient as possible for our customers, which is why we are deploying additional assistance desks in areas with the most unregistered users of basic or feature phones. We are committed to fighting SIM-related crimes to protect our customers; that’s why we want to help everyone comply with the mandate,” said Cleo Santos, Globe Channel Management Group Head.
Globe has 86.7 million SIM users under its network. SIMs not registered by the deadline will be deactivated.
Globe Stores and EasyHubs Ready to Provide SIM Registration Assistance
April 3, 2023
Globe Stores and Easy Hubs across the country are ready to provide assistance to customers who may need help in registering their SIMs as the April 26, 2023 deadline approaches.

Cleo Santos, Head of Globe Channel Marketing Group, said 147 Globe stores and 25 Easy Hubs in various locations around the country are open to mobile and broadband customers who would need help to have their SIMs registered in compliance with the SIM Registration Act.
"We are pleased to see a steady increase in registered subscribers. However, we understand that some of our customers may still need assistance. So in our commitment to provide excellent service, our Globe Stores and Globe Easy Hubs are open to assist customers who need help for SIM registration," said Cleo Santos, Head of Globe Channel Management Group.
This effort is on top of 24/7 registration via Globe’s SIM registration website new.globe.com.ph/simreg, and the GlobeOne app. Globe earlier launched National SIM Registration Week, an initiative to roll out over 500 SIM Registration Assistance Desks across the country, including remote areas and places known to have high concentration of users of basic phones.
Globe has so far logged 23.48 million SIM registrations as of April 2. An estimated 86.7 million SIMs are under the Globe network.
The SIM Registration Act aims to help curb scams and cybercrime by requiring all local SIMs to be registered by April 26 this year. Unregistered SIMs will be deactivated after the deadline.
To facilitate the registration of more customers, especially in remote areas, Globe has participated in several rounds of on-ground SIM Registration Assistance led by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC). To see the list of SIM Registration Assistance sites, please visit www.globe.com.ph/register-sim-card.
It has also partnered with local government units, groceries, and malls in putting up assisted registration booths in more than 100 sites nationwide, and held on-site assistance in major festivals.

Globe emphasized the company's commitment to providing excellent service to its customers and offering on-ground assistance to those who may face challenges with the registration process, especially in remote areas.
"We understand the importance of staying connected, especially during these challenging times. That's why Globe remains committed to providing our customers with the best possible service and support. With our SIM registration booths deployed across the country, we hope to make the registration process as easy and convenient as possible for everyone. We encourage our customers to visit these locations and comply with the government mandate before the deadline,” said Globe Channel Management Group Head Cleo Santos.
Globe has already supported the first six rounds of NTC-led SIM registration aside from launching its own on-ground initiatives. It also offers an online platform (new.globe.com.ph/simreg) and the GlobeOne app, available 24/7, to make it more convenient for customers to register their SIMs.

"We remain committed to providing our customers with the best possible service. Whether they choose to register their SIM online or offline, we are here to support them every step of the way. We understand that some may face challenges with the registration process, particularly in remote areas, which is why we are providing on-ground assistance where it's needed most. Our goal is to ensure that every customer can easily register their SIM and stay connected with their loved ones,” said Cleo Santos, Head of Globe’s Channel Management Group.
Globe supported earlier rounds of NTC-led SIM registration, deploying assistance desks in over 90 areas. Last week, it launched its own National SIM Registration Week (NSRW), rolling out assistance desks in over 500 locations across the country from February 20, 2023 onwards.
The company’s online SIM registration platform, new.globe.com.ph/simreg, and the GlobeOne app are also available 24/7 to make it more convenient for everyone to register their SIM cards. For postpaid subscribers, just text SIMREG to 8080 to confirm that details earlier submitted to Globe are updated.
All these efforts are part of Globe’s goal to reach out to all customers, especially senior citizens, disabled persons, pregnant women, users of basic phones, and those with no internet access so they can comply with the SIM Registration Act before the April 26, 2023 deadline.
The SIM Registration Act requires the registration of all SIMs as a major measure against the proliferation of criminal activity, including smishing and other mobile phone and online scams that have spread due to the anonymity allowed by the use of unregistered SIMs.
Globe urges all mobile users in the country to register their SIMs and support the campaign.
February 2023 Updates
Globe SIM registration via GlobeOne App Now Open
February 23, 2023
Globe customers can now register their SIMs through the GlobeOne app, another convenient and accessible option to comply with the SIM Registration Act.
By making SIM registration available on the app, Globe hopes to expand reach to its subscribers and finish registration of roughly 86.7 million SIM users under the Globe network by the April 26, 2023 deadline. As of February 22, Globe has logged over 14.47 million registrations.
“We have made the GlobeOne app available for SIM registration to provide an easy and convenient platform for our customers to register. Through the app, you’ll be able to complete your registration in three easy steps! What’s more, you will also get to access exclusive offers, and the best deals and rewards available only on the app. We encourage our customers to plan and schedule their SIM registration as early as they can,” said Darius Delgado, Globe Consumer Mobile Business Head.
The GlobeOne app may be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Subscribers must have all the necessary information and documents ready before starting the registration process. These are the following:
- Full name
- Birthday
- Sex
- Address
- Type of government ID presented and ID number
- Valid government ID with photo (file size only up to 4MB)
- Selfie photo (file size only up to 4MB)
Once ready, you may register in three easy steps:
- Tap ‘Register Your SIM’ when you open the GlobeOne app
- Select the account you want to register or enter your number. Update your info.
- Wait for the confirmation that you’re registered!
Customers are advised to take note of their registration number after successfully submitting their details.
Globe also reiterated its warning against dealing with individuals or parties offering their services to help with SIM registration as this may lead to fraud and identity theft. For instance, fraudsters may use your personal details to hack your bank accounts or e-wallets, or create fake accounts with your name and photo for use in illicit activities.
“We strongly advise customers to only use official channels for SIM registration and not to share personal information with strangers or unverified sources. The GlobeOne app and our company's SIM registration website, new.globe.com.ph/simreg, are the only official channels where our customers should register,” said Delgado.
Globe has also started rolling out assisted registration sites for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, users of basic or feature phones and anyone in need of help to get their SIMs registered. This is to ensure that customers are able to register their SIMs in a timely and convenient manner regardless of their challenges or circumstances.
Globe encourages all customers to register their SIMs before the deadline of April 26, 2023 to avoid the risk of SIM deactivation.
Be Part Of History And Join Globe's National SIM Registration Week
February 21, 2023
Globe, the Philippines’ leader in mobile, on Monday launched the first ever National SIM Registration Week (NSRW), rolling out assistance desks in over 500 locations across the country from February 20, 2023 onwards to make it easier for customers to register their SIM cards.
Globe Consumer Mobile Business Head Darius Delgado and Channel Management Group Head Cleo Santos spearheaded the launch together with National Telecommunications Commissioner Ella Blanca Lopez, Department of Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary Anna Mae Lamentillo, and Makati Mayor Abigail Binay at a Globe facility in Makati City.
The initiative is part of Globe’s goal to reach out to customers, especially senior citizens, PWDs, pregnant women, users of basic phones and those with no internet access to get them compliant with the SIM Registration Act before the April 26, 2023 deadline.
"The National SIM Registration Week is a momentous initiative that will bring together Filipinos across the country to register their SIMs and move us closer to our goal of reducing spam and scam text messages, which is the intent of the SIM Registration Act. It's a historic moment for Globe as we endeavor to get closer to our customers through online channels and on-site booths. We encourage our customers to be part of this activity. Together let’s keep the online space safe and secure," said Delgado.
Customers who complete SIM registration during National SIM Registration Week and those who register online are entitled to join an exclusive Globe raffle and win tickets to the highly-anticipated annual outdoor music and arts festival Wanderland and the Arctic Monkeys concert in March. The promo, open to all successful SIM registrants, is open until February 28, 2023.
In partnership with the Makati City local government unit, Globe is also offering Makatizens assisted registration services at the Makati City Hall open parking area from February 20 to 24, 2023.
Globe is undertaking multiple initiatives to reach its customers for SIM registration. With roughly 86.7 million SIMs under its network and only three months left to register, the Globe Group has tapped its affiliates, subsidiaries, and the full support of the #OneAyalaGroup to drive registrations.
Since January, Globe has deployed assisted registration hubs across 90 remote areas in support of government-led SIM registration assistance. It also partnered with Puregold in holding assisted registration in 30 strategically selected branches and provided assisted registration during the Sinulog festival in Cebu and the Dinagyang festival in Iloilo.
Globe is committed to make SIM registration simple and convenient, and it has implemented various measures to ensure that everyone can meet the April 26 deadline. Aside from the registration booths, Globe Prepaid and TM customers can also conveniently register via the GlobeOne app or by visiting new.globe.com.ph/simreg.
For Globe Postpaid and Platinum customers, meanwhile, completing SIM registration takes just one step. As soon as the customer receives the call to register SMS, simply text SIMREG to 8080 to confirm that details earlier submitted to Globe during the postpaid plan application are updated.
The SIM Registration Act requires the registration of all SIMs as a major measure against the proliferation of criminal activity, including smishing and other mobile phone and online scams that have spread due to the anonymity of unregistered SIMs.
Globe urges all Filipino mobile users to register their SIMs and support the campaign to beat spam and scam text messages and cybercrime. For more information on the SIM registration process and how to register, visit www.globe.com.ph/help/sim-registration-act.
Globe Postpaid Users May Confirm SIM Registration in Just One Step
February 9, 2023
Starting February 9, 2023, Globe Postpaid customers may start confirming registration of their SIMs in just one easy step.
To complete the SIM registration of its Postpaid customers, Globe today starts sending out an SMS asking them to confirm their details by simply texting <SIMREG> to 8080.
By sending the SMS, individual Globe Postpaid and Platinum customers confirm to Globe the full name, date of birth, sex, address and proof of identification that they already submitted to Globe during postpaid application.
This step serves as the customers’ expressed confirmation for Globe to use their current details for SIM registration, in compliance with the law.
“We have made it very easy for our valued Postpaid customers to complete their SIM Registration. With just one text, they will be compliant with the SIM Registration law. With this step, we hope to reach more of our customers and get them to register,” said Darius Delgado, Head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business.
For prepaid customers, registration remains open 24/7 in Globe’s SIM registration website, new.globe.com.ph/simreg.
Globe has also started rolling out assisted registration sites across the country to extend help to senior citizens, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, users of basic or feature phones and anyone who needs support to get their SIMs registered.
Globe again calls on all its customers to register their SIMS before the April 26, 2023 deadline to avoid SIM deactivation. There are an estimated 86.7 million SIM users in the Globe network.

Globe Warns vs Online Offers for SIM Registration Assistance
January 11, 2023
Register for free in a few easy steps on Globe’s official portal
Globe cautions its customers against offers of SIM registration assistance online and advises them not to share personal information to protect their data security and privacy.
There are already reports of individuals taking advantage of the SIM registration requirement. They offer their services through social media either for free or for a fee and request the name, photo, valid ID, birthday, cellphone number, and address of SIM users.
Such personal information, when in the wrong hands, may be used to impersonate their owners, access their accounts, steal money or other fraudulent activities. Identity thieves may also open accounts in another person’s name, run up debt, or commit crimes, causing damaged reputation and financial problems.
"We want to remind our customers to be wary of these types of offers and to only use official channels for their SIM registration," said Irish Salandanan-Almeida, Globe Chief Privacy Officer. "Your personal information is valuable and we urge you to protect it from those who may want to use it for unlawful purposes."
Instead of seeking help from unknown individuals, customers may register their SIMs for free at new.globe.com.ph/simreg. Registration through the GlobeOne app will also start later this month. They may also ask a trusted family member or friend for assistance.

Update: Globe SIM Registration Portal
December 27, 2022 | 8 p.m.
We apologize to our mobile customers, especially those who have been wanting to take advantage of the first day of SIM registration.
Globe is committed to make SIM registration easy and convenient for its 87.9 million customers. However, it is very unfortunate that we discovered potential minor vulnerabilities in our microsite that require careful patching in order to prevent any serious threat to customer data. We take this very seriously hence even minor issues are given utmost attention. This happened despite all the preparation, technical tests and due diligence we have conducted.
Globe has also informed the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) about the issue on our SIM registration portal, new.globe.com.ph/simreg, today, December 27, 2022.
These issues prompted Globe to take proactive measures to make the site temporarily inaccessible as customer data security is paramount and any problem detected is treated with utmost severity. In light of this development, Globe has requested the NTC for a maximum of 72 hours from today to observe our SIM registration portal to ensure all patches made are technically stable.
Prior to this, the SIM registration portal went live early in the morning today where at least 20,000 customers were able to register.
Globe takes full responsibility for the actions it has taken and is prepared to accept any regulatory penalty if merited, in order to prioritize the protection of its customers' data.
Globe asks its customers for patience and understanding given this unprecedented and massive IT deployment. We wish to assure our customers that Globe is doing its best to deliver a SIM registration platform that provides a good digital experience for customers, that is also secure and safe.
Globe likewise assures existing customers that there is enough time to complete their registration. All Globe Prepaid, TM, Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi, Globe Mobile WiFi and Globe Business prepaid customers have until April 26, 2023 to register.
For new SIM users, they may visit the site within the next 72 hours, as we implement our system fixes.
Registration via the GlobeOne app will begin by January 2023, while on-site assisted registration will start in February 2023 for Globe customers facing challenges using digital or online platforms, using feature or basic phones, or have no internet access.
We will continue to provide regular updates on the SIM registration of our customers.
