Well-Loved Alabang Restos Join Globe’s #UniteForHapag Campaign

Alabang's culinary scene is taking a generous step forward as two of its most treasured dining establishments, The Black Pig and Tiago's, led by Chef Carlos Garcia and Chef Jorn Fonseca, join the campaign to #UniteForHapag.

In collaboration with the Fine Dining Club Philippines Facebook community, Globe is launching Gourmet Giving Series: A Fine Dining Experience for the Hapag Movement." This initiative brings to the forefront the synergy of gastronomy and goodwill, with a portion of proceeds aiding the fight against involuntary hunger in the country.

Garcia, a Spanish culinary maestro with a rich background in Michelin-starred restaurants across Madrid and London, infuses into every dish his philosophy that “food should never be pretentious.” His aim is to craft experiences that transcend the plate, fostering connections and encapsulating the dynamism of Metro Manila's food scene.

“Dining in the Philippines goes beyond the food experience—what’s more important are the connections and interactions made over a great meal,” he said.

Tiago's, the latest fine dining venture by the creative team behind The Black Pig, will present its 4-course menu for ₱2,900 per person on November 21 and 22. Tiago's is a testament to Fonseca’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of flavor, presenting dishes that are not only visually stunning but also marry unique flavors using local ingredients.

“We want dining to really be an experience again. We’ll take our diners on a culinary journey that brings together Filipino and Spanish flavors in an unforgettable way. And with the special Hapag Movement meal, there’s the added satisfaction of being able to enjoy great food while also supporting a noble cause,” remarked Fonseca, an Enderun graduate with 13 years of industry experience.

On November 23 and 24, The Black Pig will be serving a 4-course menu for ₱2,800 per person. Renowned for its European-inspired cuisine with a local twist, The Black Pig pays homage to both the Filipino lechon and the Spanish Iberico pig, offering a unique epicurean journey that is sure to satisfy diners.

Gourmet Giving Series channels the collective efforts of top-tier restaurants to support The Hapag Movement, a Globe-led initiative that utilizes technology and partnerships to empower vulnerable Filipino families through supplemental feeding and livelihood training.

This collaboration underscores Globe's mission as a connector that fosters #GlobeOfGood, leveraging on the Fine Dining Club of the Philippines' expansive network of over 23,300 food connoisseurs.

“The Hapag Movement is more than just addressing hunger; it's about community and resilience. The support from The Black Pig and Tiago's, alongside Fine Dining Club Philippines, represents the best of what we can achieve together. Each meal served is a step closer to our goal of changing the lives of 500,000 Filipinos,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at the Globe Group.

"What the Hapag Movement hopes to do differently in the fight against involuntary hunger in the Philippines is to use digital platforms to spread awareness on this issue and accelerate fundraising," said RG Orense, Globe Digital and Social Channels Head. "Partnering with Fine Dining Club Philippines, we are so proud to see the power of digital in bringing people together for this cause, and move from online conversations to real-world action."

The commitment of The Black Pig and Tiago's to the Gourmet Giving Series is a testament to the power of unity and the unwavering spirit of the Filipino community. Through the fusion of fine dining and philanthropy, the goal of creating a #GlobeOfGood becomes ever more attainable.
