This award honors excellence in explanatory/investigative reporting published on an online site or in print, highlighting a significant issue relative to the theme and anchored on any of the identified sustainability pillars.
The story should demonstrate resourceful and purposeful reporting in uncovering relevant issues, exposing even uncomfortable truths for the benefit of the common good.
The story may also be accompanied by supplementary materials such as photos, graphics, and the like that lend value to the feature. It may be in the form of a series pertaining to a developing story.

This award honors the best news story in print or digital format, demonstrating the highest standards of responsible journalism through effective data gathering and coherent storytelling. The story must be a relevant topic to the community, relative to the theme, and anchored on any of the identified sustainability pillars. It must reflect purposeful reporting, encouraging discourse or action in the community.

This award honors excellence in explanatory/ investigative reporting in video format that best enlightens issues of public importance relative to the theme and anchored on any of the identified sustainability pillars. The video should demonstrate resourceful and purposeful reporting in uncovering relevant issues, exposing even uncomfortable truths for the benefit of the common good.
Published in an online site, this video entry should have 1‒5 minutes duration and showcase excellence in visual storytelling, breaking down complex issues in a manner easily understood by the audience.

This award honors excellence in photojournalism, recognizing the image that best encapsulates and represents a relevant issue, event, or situation relative to the theme, and demonstrates an outstanding level of visual perception and creativity.
The photo must be anchored and related as well to any of the identified sustainability pillars.

- High-resolution digital copy of the photo in JPEG
- Screen capture and URL of the photo published on the digital platforms of the media outlet or the blogger’s official website or social media (proofs showing photos being published in newspapers only are not qualified)

This award honors excellence in agile reportage covering a developing news story with creative use of various digital platforms for a quick turnaround. The story should demonstrate clear, accurate, and timely journalism with materials produced within 4-6 hours from the occurrence of the event. Story should be related to the theme and anchored on any of the identified sustainability pillars.

- Brief statement as to why the nominator feels the nominee deserves the award
- Brief background of the nominee

I-GCashMo Award
GCash is the leading mobile wallet in the Philippines. It became the lifeline of Filipinos during the pandemic. From a user-base of 20M pre-pandemic, it has almost quadrupled to 71M to-date, serving 65% of the population. With the aim of democratizing fintech, GCash continuously expands its services offering GInvest, GLoans, GSave and a host of other features now made available to the largely unbanked population. This year, GMEA is calling out for stories that highlight how GCash has been able to uplift the lives of Filipinos. The I-GCashMo Award recognizes exceptional stories that clearly demonstrate how GCash, with its slew of features, made an impact through any of the following:
- Made everyday life easier
- Aided in livelihood
- Opened up opportunities previously not available or accessible

Did the story generate positive sentiments and reactions from its audience online (measured by sentiment and engagement)? Did the story encourage the audience to utilize GCash and experience the many benefits that it provides?

General Guidelines
- Interested participants may visit the GMEA website and fill out the entry form.
- Refer to the instructions and list of requirements on the entry form and accomplish the required documents.

- Once your entry form has been submitted, PRWORKS may contact you to confirm and verify your documents.
- Entrants that have published works in print, broadcast, and online news platforms during the search period are qualified to join.
- Content published within the search period from January 15, 2022 to November 30, 2022 is eligible for submission.
- Journalists formerly affiliated with media publications whose published articles fall within the search period are qualified and may submit entries.
- Entries published in national newspapers are only accepted if the topic of the article is VisMin-related and the entrants are based in VisMin as well. Entrants are not allowed to submit the same entry to different categories, except for the #KwentoNgTagumpay Community Development Story of the Year category.
- Submissions can be in a local language. English translation is not required.
- Submission of entries will start from September 7, 2022 to November 30, 2022.
