Frequently Asked Questions on Illegal Reporters

- Receiving the signal from a cell tower using an outdoor antenna.
- Amplifying the signal via a signal amplifier.
- Rebroadcasting the amplified signal to an area using an indoor antenna.
It also strengthens the signal from your phone and sends it back to the cell tower for improved connectivity.
Components of a repeater:
- Outdoor antenna

- Indoor antenna*
*Equipment details may vary.
Repeaters are considered illegal when they are:

- If the owner complies, no legal action will be taken.
- If the owner does not comply, the NTC will issue a Show Cause Order, requiring the surrender of the device.
Important Legal Note:
- The sale, purchase, importation, possession, or use of unauthorized repeaters is illegal under NTC Memorandum Order No. 01-02-2013.
- The Public Service Act also prohibits the use of unauthorized repeaters, and violators may face penalties under Philippine law.
