Postpaid International Roaming FAQs

How do I activate the roaming service for my Globe Postpaid plan?

As a general rule, Postpaid plans already have their roaming service pre-activated. However, there are instances where the roaming is deactivated, such as customer-initiated deactivation and in line-only plans. By default, roaming is also not pre-activated for plans 599 and below.

Please be ready to provide a copy of your proof of financial capacity such as computerized one month payslip, certificate of employment, BIR W2, etc. when requesting for roaming activation.

To activate your roaming, you may:

  • Dial *143# using your Globe mobile. This is toll-free both here and abroad.
  • Call the roaming hotline at +63277301212. This is also toll-free both here and abroad. Toll-free numbers and collect calls only apply when using a local number or landline. Calls made using your Globe mobile phone while abroad will be charged with regular roaming rates.

I registered for roaming but I can't get a signal when I reach my international destination. Why is that so?

If it's been pre-activated, you may want to turn your phone OFF then ON to refresh your signal.

Remember, if you're a Postpaid customer, roaming activation is generally automatic except for corporate-managed accounts, line-only subscriptions and those under Plans 599 and below.

Cool! How do I use my data roaming?

You can now browse and bring all your favorite apps with you anywhere you go. With Globe’s Roam Surf 399, you can enjoy all-day data roaming in over 120 countries worldwide, for a 24-hour flat rate of only P399. To activate Roam Surf 399, all you have to do is to turn on your mobile data and data roaming upon arrival abroad. No need to register.

If you’d like to keep your data roaming off, please switch off mobile data and data roaming on your mobile settings.

In selected countries where there is no Roam Surf partner, zonal rates charging for data roaming will no longer be available. Not to worry, we're working on making Roam Surf promos available in these destinations soon!

For the list of countries that no longer have pay-per-use data roaming, refer to: http://www.globe.com.ph/international/roaming-postpaid/zonal-rates.

What is an APN and how do I set it correctly?

An Access Point Name (APN) is a setting that provides all the details your device needs to connect to your provider's network. This connection is what allows you to enjoy all the features offered by your SIM card such as mobile data browsing.

To enjoy seamless data browsing on your phone, your mobile APN should be set to internet.globe.com.ph.

To change your APN, follow these steps:

How do I make sure my roaming remains active if I'm going abroad for over a month? How can I avoid other unwanted roaming charges?

If you have remaining balance from your previous bill, ensure that you pay this before leaving the country. You can have a relative in the Philippines settle this for you. You may also opt to use the online services of our banking partners such as BPI online banking.

Or you can simply download the GlobeOne from Google PlayStore or the Apple App Store so you can start paying your bills anytime you want, anywhere you are.

To avoid other unwanted roaming charges, remember to:

A. Register to Globe promos abroad via *143# as it's toll-free using your Globe mobile phone.
B. Avoid calling international toll-free numbers using your Globe mobile number. Toll-free rates apply only when you're calling from a local landline abroad.
C. Avoid making collect calls using your Globe mobile phone. You'll still be charged with roaming rates. Collect calls apply only when you're calling from a local landline abroad and if the called party accepts the call.
