From Manila to Cebu and Davao, Globe brings the latest iPhone closer to its most valued customers through intimate, peer-led experiences

For years, the arrival of a new iPhone has been synonymous with midnight countdowns, long queues, and the excitement of being among the first to get your hands on the latest device. This year, Globe Platinum is giving that tradition an elevated twist, turning the iPhone 18 midnight launch into an intimate celebration of innovation, exceptional dining, and a community that shares a taste for the extraordinary.
The experience was designed around a simple understanding of the Platinum customer: being first matters, but so does how you get there. For customers who value their time, privacy, and seamless service, Globe Platinum transformed device handover into a carefully curated evening where innovation met hospitality.
On the eve of the nationwide iPhone 18 release, Globe Platinum hosted three simultaneous midnight unboxing experiences in Manila, Cebu, and Davao, bringing the excitement of the latest iPhone closer to customers while eliminating the need to navigate crowded retail launches. At the heart of the experience was the “Platinum for Platinum” concept, which brought together Platinum customers with fellow members of the community whose own businesses and talents helped shape the evening.
In Manila, guests gathered at TAGLISH Seafood Steakhouse in Makati, owned and helmed by Michelin-starred chef and Globe Platinum subscriber Frances Tariga. In Cebu, the celebration took place at The Pig & Palm, the acclaimed restaurant of world-renowned Michelin-starred chef and Platinum subscriber Jason Atherton. In Davao, guests were welcomed at Mori & Mill, led by business leader and culinary innovator and Platinum subscriber Anthony Ang.
The regional approach gave each gathering its own character while creating one shared Platinum experience across the country where guests were treated to an intimate dining experience before counting down to the arrival of their new iPhones and taking part in an intimate unboxing moment. Invitees were among the first to experience the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, made even more accessible through iPhone Forever, Globe’s year-on-year upgrade program that lets customers stay ahead with the latest flagship iPhone every year.
“Our Platinum customers have told us that being first should not mean having to compromise their time or experience,” said Mark Pasaylo, Head of Globe Platinum Business. “With the iPhone 18 launch, we wanted to rethink what it means to give our most valued customers early access. Instead of simply giving them a device, we created an experience that reflects their lifestyle, intimate, seamless, and thoughtfully curated. What makes it even more special is that we are able to celebrate with fellow Platinum members who are themselves shaping world-class experiences in their communities.”

For the hosts, the evening was equally a celebration of Filipino culinary excellence and entrepreneurship. Chef Frances Tariga said, “It is an honor to welcome fellow Platinum customers into a space built around Filipino creativity and hospitality. Being able to pair a milestone in technology with an experience rooted in food and community makes this launch truly special.”
The occasion carries added significance for Globe, which has been part of the iPhone story in the Philippines from the beginning. In 2008, Globe partnered with Apple to pioneer the introduction of the iPhone 3G in the local market, helping usher in a new era of mobile technology for Filipino consumers.
The iPhone 18 experience therefore marked more than another product launch. It reflected how far Globe has come in understanding that premium customers are not simply looking for access to the newest technology, they are looking for an experience worthy of it.
