Shop Local with SMAC, Help Feed Our Kababayans via the Hapag Movement

When you shop this New Year, you can help provide food for families in need.  It can also be a pledge of support to local artisans and a step towards a more sustainable future.

This year, Globe and SMAC are rekindling the festive spirit with the "Ibalik ang Sarap ng Pasko sa Hapag" campaign. Your donation through SMAC points, gathered by purchasing from SM-affiliated partner, Kultura, will bolster Globe’s The Hapag Movement and SM Foundation's initiatives to make a real difference in people's lives.

Shopping at Kultura on all weekends until January 31 transforms into an act of giving. With a minimum spend of P5,000, you won’t just get to support local enterprises; 50 SMAC points will also be donated to the Hapag Movement.

Each item at Kultura tells a unique story of community, identity, and sustainability. From eco-friendly décor and fashionable Filipiniana to artisanal chocolates and native treats, every product is a tribute to the rich culture of the Philippines and the craftsmanship of its people.

A woven basket containing a beige cap embroidered with "Manila," a folded black-and-white "Manila Philippines" shirt, and decorative natural elements like straw and a green star ornament, styled against a vibrant woven mat backdrop.

“SMAC shares the passion of our members to rally behind a cause and be part of the solution to problems facing our country. With the campaign “Ibalik ang Sarap ng Pasko sa Hapag,” members get to donate SMAC points to fight involuntary hunger by simply shopping at the participating stores. You will also get to help local artisans and brands in their businesses, and second, you will be able to share your blessings with families battling involuntary hunger. All these simply by using SMAC,” said Jay Beltran, Head of Sales and Marketing, Digital Advantage Corporation (DAC).

"This season is not just a time for celebration but a profound opportunity to make a difference and strengthen our communities," expressed Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at Globe. "Every donation and purchase weaves into a greater story of hope, sustainability, and empowerment. These actions echo our commitment towards creating a brighter, more resilient future for all."

Now in its second year, the partnership between Globe and SMAC continues to forge a path of change through The Hapag Movement. This initiative has been pivotal in bringing together technology, corporate responsibility, and community engagement to support Filipino families facing involuntary hunger.

On this new run, the initiative is backed by the following participating brands.

  • SM Fashion at the SM Store

  • Levi’s

  • Forever 21

  • Ecco

  • Simply Shoes

  • The Body Shop

  • SM Beauty Section

  • Our Home

  • Crate & Barrel

  • Kultura

  • SM Appliance Center

  • Surplus

  • Sports Central

Aiming to assist 500,000 Filipinos suffering from involuntary hunger, Globe and SMAC are transforming shopping experiences into meaningful gestures of support and community upliftment. This objective aligns with Globe's vision of creating sustainable solutions and envisioning a future where hunger is no longer a challenge.

About 1 in 10 Filipino families experienced involuntary hunger at least once in the past three months, according to the Q3 2023 Social Weather Stations Survey from September 28 to October 1. To address this, Globe and SMAC invite you to join this noble cause. You can also contribute through GCash, credit card donations, and Rewards points via the GlobeOne app.

Let your New Year resonate with a deeper meaning. Support this collaboration and be a part of a movement that not only celebrates Philippine heritage but also supports local businesses and addresses the critical issue of involuntary hunger. With every purchase, you have the power to unwrap the true spirit of giving.
