The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Globe continue to advance digital inclusion through the Bayanihan SIM Project, marking another major milestone in the nationwide rollout of the government's flagship connectivity initiative.

The milestone reflects the continued rollout of the government's initiative to help bridge the digital divide by expanding access to mobile connectivity for learners, teachers, and underserved communities. To date, 500,400 Bayanihan SIMs have been delivered to the DICT for nationwide distribution, with over 400,000 already reaching beneficiaries in more than 1,200 public schools across the country.

"Connectivity has become essential to how people learn, communicate, and access opportunities," said Carl Cruz, President and CEO of Globe. "Through the Bayanihan SIM Project, we are proud to stand alongside the DICT in helping make digital access more inclusive so that more Filipinos, wherever they are, can benefit from the opportunities that connectivity creates."

Globe is supporting the rollout of the Bayanihan SIM Project in communities across the country, from the upland Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Area (GIDA) of Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan, where the initiative was first launched, to underserved communities in Palawan, Lanao del Sur, and South Cotabato.

The initiative benefits public school learners and teachers, as well as eligible Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) households identified through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), helping expand access to education, digital government services, communication platforms, eWallets and other essential online resources. Each Bayanihan SIM card comes with 25 GB of monthly mobile data, supporting meaningful digital participation for beneficiaries across these communities.

As Globe continues to support the country's digital transformation agenda, it remains committed to working alongside the DICT and other partners to expand reliable connectivity and help ensure that more Filipinos can access the tools, services, and opportunities needed to thrive in an increasingly digital society.
