Approximately 91% of capex directed to data and digital infrastructure as Globe delivers consistent mobile and home internet experiences, expands 5G coverage, and enhances service quality nationwide

Globe invested ₱26.3 billion in capital expenditures in the first half of 2026, up 39% year-on-year, as the company continued to pursue a disciplined capital allocation strategy anchored on network expansion, digital infrastructure, and long-term customer value. The investment reflects Globe’s continued commitment to meeting the country’s rising demand for reliable connectivity while preserving financial flexibility to support its broader priorities. The company remains on track to keep full-year capital expenditures below US$1 billion, underscoring a measured approach to growth that balances execution with discipline.

The bulk of the investment was directed toward strengthening the country’s digital foundation. Around 91% of total capex was allocated to data-related initiatives, reinforcing Globe’s focus on expanding network capacity, improving service quality, and supporting the Philippines’ growing connectivity needs. Capex represented 31% of service revenues during the period.

The company also accelerated its 5G rollout, bringing outdoor population coverage to more than 98% across Metro Manila and key cities in the Visayas and Mindanao. Globe likewise expanded its 5G footprint in non-key cities across the country, covering at least 80% of the population. This continued expansion strengthens Globe’s ability to support growing data demand while extending access to next-generation connectivity beyond major urban centers.

“Globe’s continued investments in network infrastructure are about more than expanding capacity; they are about delivering a better everyday experience for our customers and ensuring that more Filipinos can benefit from reliable, high-quality connectivity,” said Carl Cruz, President and CEO of Globe. “By strengthening our networks and extending our reach, we are helping bridge the digital divide and creating more opportunities for people, families, and communities across the country to participate fully in a more connected future.”

These investments are already translating into tangible improvements in customer experience. Based on Ookla® Speedtest Intelligence® data from 2H 2024 - 1H 2026, Globe has earned consecutive recognitions for network consistency and 5G coverage, including Most Consistent Mobile Provider four times in a row, Widest Mobile 5G Coverage twice in a row, and Most Consistent Home Internet twice in a row.

For Globe, these outcomes are more than performance metrics; the company’s continued infrastructure rollout also supports broader national priorities around digital inclusion and connectivity. By directing the bulk of its spending to data and network-related initiatives, Globe is helping strengthen the country’s digital backbone and enabling more Filipinos to participate in an increasingly connected economy.

Globe’s first-half 2026 capex strategy reflects a clear operating philosophy: invest where it matters most, execute with discipline, and keep customer experience at the center. As demand for faster, more consistent, and more reliable connectivity continues to grow, Globe says it will remain focused on building the network foundation needed to support the Philippines’ digital future.
