Globe brings communities, students and local partners together in Davao City through digital initiatives that support learning, livelihood and responsible technology use

Globe extended its Kadayawan celebration beyond the festivities by bringing digital livelihood opportunities and learning support to families and students in Davao City. Through the Globe Caravan and 5G Powered Campus, the company paired access to technology with practical skills that communities can use for earning, learning, and staying safe online.

Globe capped its Kadayawan activities with the Globe Caravan at the Bucana 76-A Barangay Hall, where residents learned how digital tools can support everyday needs and create additional livelihood opportunities. Through the Globe Benta App, residents explored how they can sell Globe prepaid load and promos within their communities, while GCash led a session on financial literacy and social commerce.

Globe’s Digital Thumbprint Program also provided practical guidance on identifying online risks and using technology safely and responsibly. BPI and Generika joined the Caravan to provide residents with access to banking and health services, while Green GSM drivers and their families participated alongside members of the community.

“Kadayawan celebrates the culture, creativity and community spirit of Davao, and we want our participation to go beyond the festivities,” said KD Dizon, Globe Chief Marketing Officer. “By bringing digital tools and learning closer to families and students, we’ll help more Davaoeños use connectivity to learn, explore new opportunities, progress and move forward.”

Globe also brought its 5G Powered Campus initiative to Sta. Ana Central Elementary School, turning over 5G-enabled mobile devices to help students use technology for learning and other productive activities. Students also joined a Digital Thumbprint session on responsible technology use, pairing access to devices with practical knowledge for navigating the digital world, with Jollibee providing meals for 150 students during the activity.

“We appreciate Globe’s support in helping our students become more prepared for an increasingly digital future. Access to technology, combined with responsible digital learning, gives our learners more opportunities to grow both inside and outside the classroom,” Darwin Fernandez, School Principal of Sta. Ana Central Elementary School said.

For Globe, its Kadayawan activities reflect a broader effort to help communities get more value from connectivity by pairing access with the skills and tools people need to use technology productively. By working with families, schools, and local partners in Davao, Globe is helping turn connectivity into practical opportunities for learning, livelihood, and safer participation in the digital world.
